High Tea Buffet at Eastin Penang

The bf's birthday fell on the exact same day as father's day this year, so i decided to treat him (and myself) to a high-tea buffet. But then, the only buffet available is for father's day....so yeah, i brought my BF to a FATHER's day buffet. anyway it was RM60++ per pax

i didnt think there were too many selections of food at first glance and i still stand by that today...the thing that caught my attention first was the desserts bar...

don't they look awesome! but then who in their right mind steps into a buffet and go for the desserts straightaway right? so i had to try the main dishes first la...

i think i must be nuts to take dim sum in a halal restaurant! how can it be nice without the porky goodness??? but nevertheless,looks good for my photos...haha

then we took a selection of food ranging from the fried king prawns,roast lamb,lamb massala,coffee chicken....

verdict? not too good to make me salivate now as i describe them on my blog.

this money bag looks cute but again it has cheap ingredients like what i would get in the poh-piah from my office cafeteria

and finally...the desserts!

these were some chocolate filled tarts

and chocolate mousse which was pretty good...

being the typical chinese, i just had to make sure i had my fill of RM60 worth of food so i ended with a helping of ice kacang, freshly made on the spot

it was ok, but when the ice kacang was sent to my table i was still talking and not touching it when i noticed the guy manning the ice kacang stall looking at me and smiling...so i had to quickly gobble it up just to show him some respect...haha!
