Penang Butterfly Farm

Went to the butterfly farm for the verrryy first time with the OCPG crew (lol!) last weekend. The place was really full of butterflies (what else??) that are flying freely around! Which means you can go as near as you want to the butterflies and even touch them if you want to!

It was such a pretty sight! Butterfly lovers will sure have a wonderful time there. They are so tame they will even pose for you to take photos. This is one place you don't need a macro lens or a zoom lens to take nice photos :)

See? I could even take this pretty photo with my camera phone! I have not copied out the pics from my slr yet cos my monitor kong-Ed off -_-"

At only rm10 per entrance for Mykad holders, this place is heaven for phography enthusiasts

Among the many tourist spots I've visited in Penang, I think this is the one that is not overrated and my favouritest one! :)))

Derivation of Stem Cells to benefit stroke patients

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of CryoCell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

The usage of stem cells to help in healing adult diseases or sicknesses is fast becoming a commonly acceptable norm among our society nowaday. However, the only stem cell i have ever heard of are those derived from a baby's umbilical cord blood. There are numerous services nowadays that helps to "archive" the baby's cord blood for his/her own usage in the future. But what about us adults where stem cells were not that popular when we were born? The April 2010 cover article of Stem Cells and Development shows that stem cells found in menstrual blood may be a potential source for stem cell therapies in stroke and other nervous system disorders.

When we hear of menstrual blood being used, we most often feel disgusted or freaked out. But according to the research paper in 'Stem Cells and Development' article entitled "Menstrual Blood Cells Display Stem Cell–Like Phenotypic Markers and Exert Neuroprotection Following Transplantation in Experimental Stroke". The remarkable ability of the uterus in regenerating cells during every menstrual cycle is the basis of why menstrual blood can be a good alternative source for stem cells. Currently the bone marrow and the umbilical cord blood are the 2 most studied adult stem cells. Extraction of stem cells from the bone marrow can be painful whereas the umbilical cord blood could only be extracted during birth.

Collection of stem cells from menstrual blood however can be not painful and usually non-intrusive. In the research where in vitro stroke model of oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD) were used and found that OGD-exposed rat neurons that were co-cultured with menstrual blood-derived stem cells exhibited significantly low cell deaths. For a limited time only C'elle in 'Medical News Today' is offering $100 off its normal retail price of $499 for the collection, processing, testing and storage for 1 year at $399. Use code CLSTR

Sweet dreams

Last nite I dreamt that I was back at my hometown in my parents home and my mom told me there's a poslaju delivery for me. I was puzzled when I open it because there for me was 2 big boxes of bags and clothes and stuffs! And I did not recall buying anything online in my dream.

Then I saw a letter addressed to me telling me they've chosen me as their review blogger for their stuff and are giving me all of them for freeee!! If I would just review their stuff in return! Wowww!!! I was soooo happy in my dream. But too bad it's just that...only a dream :(

I think I better stop buying stuffs

P/s the photos shown are pictures of my fav shopping mall in Penang at 12am. Keke. What was I doing in a mall at 12am when all the shops have closed?? =)

Sometimes when i want to share pdf documents with my friends who are scattered all over the place now, the erratic internet from our internet service provider sometimes just prohibits me from doing so! Azuma 30% off promo

Ok finally a non girly post but where have all my guy readers gone?? Lol.

Saw the Azuma (at qbm, where else. Lol) 30% off on all belt sushi so one fine afternoon when we were neither too full nor too hungry, we decided to check it out...

The salmon sushi was ok but not satisfying bcos it was very tiny :( I dono whether they reduced the size just bcos of the 30% off promo or it has always been like that.

This is the deep fried fish pieces thingy

There were a mix of salmon and some other fish. Which was not bad. It would have been better if it were warmer

And this salmon roll thingy with rice in the middle topped with cheese(???) and fish roe.

This was quite nice but it sort of reminds me of the salmon roll (with mayo center instead) from sakae sushi. I would prefer the one from sakae but they do not have 30% promo do they? ;)

The egg thingy sushi...

Which was a nice change after all the raw stuff

And some cheapo sushi to stuff someones tummy. Muahaha

The aftermath...

And oh they also gave you a teeny tiny scoop of green tea ice cream. Keke. Oh well it's complimentary..I'm happy enough :)

All these for rm26 incl tax! Cheap?

The Body Shop Sale

I think i might just ditch my shopping blog tho i do like the idea of some place for me to categorize all my fav purchases :P but then, this blog gets more hits and its just easier for me to maintain one blog.so to my guy readers here do bear with me when i post girly posts like these...muahahaha...

anyhoo, the body shop has been having a great big sale!!! i believe it ends tomorrow and i thought it was supposed to be a nationwide thing but there didnt seem to be any in Kuching...hmmm...

i saw a BIG crowd at the normally quiet shop at Queensbay mall yesterday so i went and check it out....and lo and behold! discounts up to 70%!!! you know i cant resist a sale =x but the q to the cashier was too long..hehehe...so i came back today...at 10am! just went the mall is opened ..muahaha..im hopeless! lets see what we have here...

(from left to right) Oceanus Shower Gel, White Hot Summer body mist and White Hot Summer eau de toilette.

The White Hot Summer body mist and the eau de toilette were bundled together...body mist at 70% off and eau de toilette at 50% off! fml! i just bought the body mist for someone's bday few weeks ago at the original price =_=" after discounts the body mist was only RM14.70 (rrp RM49) and the ead de toilette at RM32.50 (rrp RM65)

Which was all good because i have been lemming for the body mist since i bought it for her...hehehe...so now i can has it at 70% off! woots!

my intention was to buy the fragrance but then i thought i might just as well take advantage of the sale and buy myself the body shop shower gel..finally! I could never get myself to spend more than RM20 for such a small bottle of shower gel :( So i got this at 30% off!

After discount RM20.93 (RRP RM29.90)

me iz a happy girl!...what a great sale! :D

My first OPI

Bought my very first OPI online!! It's the "got a date to-knight"! At only rm27! Cheap rite? I think I saw some shops selling at rm50+++ here

I wanted to find out what's all the fuss about OPI nail polishes so I splurged a little. Rm27 may be cheap for an OPI but I don't normally buy nail polishes at that price. The most expensive one I've ever bought is rm18 :p

So what's the verdict? This shade in particular needed 3 layers to get what i have above. And I feel that nail polishes are quite watery compared to let's say face shop polishes which isn't necessarily bad. I've noticed that it's easier to apply and dries pretty quickly.

The funny thing was in between my 2nd and 3rd layer I knocked on something but it didn't chip very badly. When I applied the 3rd coat it was like the chip was never there! Hmm. I will observe whether OPI is longer lasting than my cheapo polishes :p I purposely did not apply a top coat to see how good it is on it's own. Hehe

I also bought fair dinkum pinkum (gotta love the names)

And would you bliv this is only rm5?!?! Not 2nd Hand too! Tell u in the next post phaps?? :)

My Mini Moment Contest

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dove Ice Cream. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have a sweet tooth but then i'm always very careful with my calorie intake because i'm still trying to lose weight :( My ice cream and chocolate cravings are the hardest for me to tackle. I can eat ice cream everyday without getting tired...but that would do havoc to my diet :P When i hear of the Dove Ice Cream miniatures i was immediately interested.

Each only has 70 calories! That is really amazing for something that sounds so yummy! It's ice cream wrapped in real Dove chocolate! The new Cafe collection even comes with java chips and cappucino flavors. Wouldnt it be nice to be able to indulge and yet not ditch your diet plans?

Currently Dove Ice Cream miniatures has launched the "My Mini Moment" contest where women are invited to share their favourite mini moment of escape. Dove Ice Cream Miniatures has conducted a survey and found that a total of 70% of over 400 mothers are taking time for themselves each day as a me-time moment. Everyone has their own idea of me-time, it could be as simple as going shopping by yourself and taking your sweet time to try on anything you like or a mini DIY spa at home :)

The lucky winner of the contest could even win one of 3 great prizes! A mini-getaway to Napa Valley, Spa services for a year or a mini-home makeover!

Actually it was an email sent by our US counterpart asking us to change our program to comply with our standards. And my program is one of them and his too! Kns!

This being Monday and all, I gave him some attitude. Kekeke. I said "change lah!!" and showed him some face. After that he softened his tone a bit. But after that I felt guilty. Maybe he was just joking with me. Muahahahah! Moral of the story never joke with me on Monday morning :x

I purposely painted my nails a nice shade of pastel colors for my blue Monday

Have a nice week! :)

Home delivery

Came home late around 640pm last night and someone was still not home yet. So he gave me the green light to do an online order for dominos pizza :)

I made my order at 6:57pm and the delivery guy arrived at 7:20pm which was pretty fast. If I had started cooking at 6:57pm I don't believe I would have finished by then.

Sometimes, I don't know which comes first...health or convenience

Short weekend trip for the long weekend

My title for this post doesn't make much sense right! Lol. Anyway, helloooo from batu feringghi Penang! :) believe it or not, this is my first ever time I made my way up north of the island after a year.

It took around 45 mins from our place to drive up north

The roads were very winding with blind corners at certain places. Almost like initial d. Rof.

Sad to say the beaches were too "commercialized"

When you walk on the beach there will be people approaching you for watersports or horse riding which I didn't really like. Certainly a tourist trap. Its not like damai beach in Kuching where you can really relax at the beach without being disturbed. where u can play around in the sea without the fear of being run over by the jet skiis :(

I saw these cute little puppies by the beach playing around on the grass. So cuuute :)

I knelt down and they came over wanting to play with me too =)

Tho it was nice to be relaxing on the lounge chair while looking at the sun setting...
