The nightmare on CNY

I m not sure how many of you guys out there know what is the greatest nightmare any gal could have during a public event???

As for me...my greatest nightmare came true early this morning....on the FIRST day of the new year...*SOB*

It has been tradition for my family to attend the chinese new year mass in church on the very first day of the lunar new year. So i was happily dressed up in my new clothes and reached church smiling happily cos its NEW YEAR.

Then................................upon my first step on the church grounds.....*GASP* WHAT DO I SEE?!?!?!

WHY!!! its another lady dressed up in the same blouse as i am!!!

THE HORROR!!!!!!!!

It took me quite a while to gather up enough courage to walk into the church....i was even half begging aidy to bring me back to change my shirt which was a little ridiculous actually..WAHAHAHAAHAH

Today i've learnt a very important lesson in life...............................

It's been a hard day's night

Here...let me quote from the beatles...

It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
...

I just cannot believe that i actually spent....MORE than 8 hours on tidying up my room!!! My goodness!!! I was too tired at the end that i was so soooooooo tempted to just do a 'chin-chai' job on tidying up...heheehe...

Luckily, due to my STRONG will power..i managed to FORCE my tired limbs to work.

My leave ...GONE just like that! *snaps finger*

And i better get an early nite 2nite....baking to do 2moro....*groans*

Sad news

Hmmm...despite all the excitement and anticipation that accompanies the coming of chinese new year...im feeling rather ...hmmmm how do you call it? rather.........down hearted today...cos of one news that i heard early this morning. Hear my story.... :)

A childhood friend of mine had lost her mother 8 years ago to breast cancer. It was pretty hard on them all,cos it was pretty unexpected and her youngest brother was still at a tender age.

However, despite all the sadness of losing their mother, i could see that they have got along pretty well. Cos they still have a loving dad who doubles up as both a dad and a 'mom'. My friend finished her Form 6 and is now overseas studying medicine...

Yesterday, her dad was like any other chinese anticipating the new year ...decorating their house with lanterns. Due to some accident, he fell down and was admitted to ICU last night due to a major lost of blood.

I've heard about this news last night...the first thought that came into my mind was ...How would my friend's young siblings go on if they lost their only dependent???

Then i had this thought that...hmm...God wouldnt be that cruel. Surely her dad would be alright. Wouldnt it be terriblly unfair to take away both their parent??

Then ... early this morning...we heard news that my friends dad had passed away.

This is really terrible...what is to become of my friends siblings...who will take care of them??? who would provide them with financial support?? who will provide them with love and care???

Even if my friend were to stop her studies altogether and come back just to support her siblings...how could she cope with the task of supporting her 3 younger siblings?? Its really sad...

I've been rather moody the whole day...i kept on pondering on life....between life and death, there exists only a very thin line. You never know when is your time...and how you will go. It might come when you least expect it without giving you even a chance to say goodbye to your loved ones. Isnt that sad??

Appreciate life while we still can...

Random Musings Part 2

hehe...ANOTHER random musings from me.Actually, i only post Random Musings blog, when i'm feeling lazy to write too much...LOL...so here it is.........

BBQ Dinner

Have you ever had those nights when you suddenly crave for BBQ and you suggest to someone,..."KIA! 2nite bbq want or not???"

your fren says "Cool!" then off you 2 go to buy chicken wings lor...and maybe some lamb, etc etc. then you 2 go home, and say "Aiyak!! i forgot to buy charcoal lar!". Your fren then said, "Oh! Its ok. You marinade the meat and i will go get the charcoal"

And by the time your friend reaches home and BBQ is about to start...it suddenly RAINS!!!! ohhh my oh my...

now!!!...you dont even have to go thru all these hassles to BBQ! just fork out some money...and WAHLAH!...you have bbq on your plate...LOL.its even easier than A-B-C

BBQ Pork. I love the crispy skin...

BBQ Chicken Wings

p/s have i forgotten to mention WHERE did i had all these???well, its being sold at the Tabuan Laru food court...bon appetit! :)

Bubbles bubbles!!!~~

Hmmm...not too sure how many of you have played with this 'stuff' while you were in primary school. Do you still remember those little tubes of stuff that comes with a mini straw. Usually sold at 10/20 cents per tube...

You squeeze out some of the stuff to cover on end of the straw...and then you blow thru the other end...and you will find that the 'stuffs' would become one big, unbreakable bubble???

Hahaha...well,let's see if any of you remember this...

Just doing some reminiscing of old times by buying 2 bundles of these bubble blower thingy
:)

Drink Review

Yesterday, we had the luck of sampling this new range of drinks for FREE! hehe..unfortunately, none of us bougth any of those drinks after sampling 2 cans... 'x'

Its basically ...juice extracted from dragon fruit. But i dont know why the fruit is called PITABERRY on the can. That's weird. At first glance, this drink looks like your regular lychee drink but the taste is different. It somehow tastes a little weird...or maybe we r not used to it?

They've even included the seeds of the dragonfruit in the drink. I found the seeds rather disturbing somehow or rather...lol

I wouldnt say the drink sucks...and i wouldnt say its nice too!...well...........let's just call it WEIRD.. ..lol..but i guess if you really really LIKE dragonfruit, you may like it!...

The can says PINKBERRY JUICE.

This is the ICEBERRY JUICE that i managed to try.

Can you see the little black seeds in 13th Panda's mug??? kekeke

why, shes none other than my pet dog ...ANGEL! :)

isnt she a cutie? i must admit that shes not really photogenic la...actually, she looks much better offline...wahaha..

ok.lemme tell u a story of how angel came about...

it was a gloomy october in the year 2004, and i was feeling very lonely cos another person who's very dear to me had to be away for work. i was lonely and bored with life when my mom suddenly decided that we should get another puppy!...and a FEMALE puppy it shall be,cos so far, we've only managed to rear male pups. male pups are troublesome in a way that they urinate anywhere, anytime and er.. anyday! put something new on the floor...say, a new flower pot...before you could blink your eyes thrice and say OMG!.....there you can c a puddle of urine beside the flower pot. thats how amazing male dogs are. LOL. are male humans any different?????WAHAAHAH

okok..so im deviating from my original topic.

so back to Angel.

hmm..after much thought, me n my mum decided to get a Shih Tzu (pronounced 'shid-zoo') lor...so we went to this pet shop at BDC and looked around for cute puppies. One cage that particularly caught my attention was this 3 little furry puppies who were jumping up and down, begging for us to let them out...AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW how cute! :)

so she asked the pet shop owner whether or not there are any females among the 3. the owner said that the ONLY female there has already been booked by someone from Miri. Darn it! i was so disapointed!

then ...miracle of all miracles....my mom suddenly found out that the owner was a foochow and when my mom started to speak foochow to him....my my...it was a different situation altogether! the owner said (in foochow ,that is) "OH!..u like that female puppy??? okla ..i can just sell it to you!..."

my mom "HA?then what about the person in Miri?"

owner " Oh! its ok! i just send over the male dogs lo. i will tell her, the female dogs are all sold out"

The power of being able to speak FOOCHOW! ..wahahahaha

so joy of all joys...we finally managed to get the little puppy back...IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!

for the next few weeks...i was spending less time on my sleep and more on her.
she had to be fed 4 times a day, once in the morning, at around 7am...not earlier and not later, once in the afternoon, once in the evening and once b4 bed.

she was really like a human baby...once, when my parents were outstation. i had to wake up at 7am just to feed her. but i didnt wake up on time *grinz* and as a result, Angel suffered from diarrhea and i had to clean her 'boot-boot' for her...arrgghh...the horror!!!

but she was really loveable! and i could say that shes very intelligent. We managed to potty train her when she was just around 2 mths old. She would always do her business on top of a newspaper that we would prepare for her. If the newspaper is too soiled for her to do any more of her business, she would whine and whine until we change it for her.Cute or what??? :)

And within 3-4 months, she learned how to shake hands...ermmmmmmmm or rather shake PAWS.hehe...you say Angel shake hand! ... she will gently and slowly put her paw on your hands ...HEE!

and then theres the "Angel Lie Down" command and "Angel Kung Si-Kung Si" command where she would move her paws up and down in a GONG XI FA CAI manner...lol

hmm...and did i forget to mention that i already have a cat at home during the time we bought Angel? well, this is another amusing part...Angel, ADORES my cat! (Miko)

When she sees Miko lying around in the car porch, she would try to use her paws to pat Miko's head. Miko being that CAT that she is ...would snarl at Angel and with her back arched, she would try to scratch Angel with the cat fight movement. Angel being innocent would think that Miko's trying to PLAY with her..and she would also make the same movements.

As time goes by, i guess Miko got tired of treating Angel like a DOG..and they both got along fairly well now. Altho, now that Angel is a full grown dog Miko would most often get knocked down by a very excited Angel.

When Miko comes back from her nightly prowl...Angel would be there to sniff Miko's paws..all her 4 paws...her head...and of cos...her "behind" ...just to find out where did Miko went to i guess...

hmm so there's my story of my little pet dog...Angel... :)

Angel with someone's socks ...

Angel shaking hands....errr... i mean PAWS

Angel with her dirty froggie chew toy.

p/s Angel's dirty fur around her mouth is not due to the fact that i have not bath her for months. her fur always turns this dirty color whenever she wets her fur while drinking. Red Sponge you remember that! [-(

Not forgetting those desserts that i didnt take any photo of. :)

Chinese New Year for You?

As suggested by Red Sponge, i will continue with my CNY-THEMED BLOGS.

Apart from the long holidays, food and erm...well, i guess that's it...there's nothing much to look forward to during CNY.

Yes, there's the house to house visiting where you get to show off whatever it is you could show off like maybe a new TV, new car, new sofa...but you have to admit that after a few houses, those CNY visiting seemed more like a chore than an activity.

And not forgetting entertaining guests who visit your house during CNY. Wah...want to sleep also cannot! Want to go out also cannot. I remember vividly how my parents would forbid us to answer any phone calls when we were about to go out, for fear that some would-be guests would like to drop by.hahahaah...

As I was telling Aidy when we were doing some tiny CNY shopping, the other day...I said i wouldnt want to have open houses when I have my own house. Then he asked me ,what if friends would like to visit? Then, I said i would just give them 1 day to visit me and that would be the ONLY one day i would be at home during CNY...wahahaah,sounds very mean doesnt it? :P

Well, I guess that's how most (i wouldnt say all) youngsters of today would think. After a mundanely routine cycle of office-home & home-office, a long holiday would be greatly welcomed. And how best to spend it than to relax at home, watching TV, drinking coca-cola and eating cashew nuts with your favourite old t shirt and your stained shorts?LOL

As time goes by, that's how most people would think like. Very soon, there won't be any open houses anymore and without open houses, how else would the celebration of CNY be felt? By then, firecrackers may have been banned completely and with no colorful fireworks lighting up the night sky...how would anyone know its CNY??? Children of the next generation may not even experience CNY like we do now!

That would be detrimental to our future chinese community. The ones that would barely know what CNY celebrations is all about. In fact, CNY as we celebrate it now has already far deviate from the original celebrations. My gawd..i think my blog is starting to turn out like a WHY WE SHOULD CELEBRATE CNY essay.

Well, what i just want to say is...despite me hating visiting and all those hypocritical aunties who never fail to drop by every year 'x' CNY celebration MUST go on! CNY visiting MUST go on too! It is the least we could do to maintain the festival for the generations to come.

Meanwhile, do take some time to visit Kenyalang and Tabuan Jaya and don't forget to try the free samples of bak kua offered to you.... :D Or if you are not a fond lover of bak kua or paiseh about trying it and not buying...then try MY way:

Bak kua cha bo : Uncle/auntie/miss/koko/whatever, try our new bak kua. It is durian-flavoured!

You : hELLO?? HELO? I am vegetarian ok??? *while shaking your head*

This technique for SURE work wan!...TRY IT!

Chinese New Year Visiting Guidelines

In view of the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations, i think it is only right that i dedicate an entry to the festival.

I was having lunch with Red Sponge, Bells Ring and Wen just now when we talked about Chinese New Year. They were asking whether or not we go visiting and other what-nots.

Then it hit me, that people who go visiting usually say the same old crap year in , year out. Honestly, they do!

So, i will be making a list of all those typical questions/topics our parents talk about when they go visiting or when there are visitors in the house. You may like to print out the list and check them off one by one when there are visitors at your parents' house this year..LOL...

-So, how many houses have you visited this year?

-Is this the first house for the day?

-Which of these kueh/biscuits did u make?

-Did you burn any firecrackers/fireworks this year? (that is, if you've managed to get hold of some ILLEGAL firecrackers...)

-Did ah gau/ah du (son/daughter) come back this year?

-What is your son/daughter doing now?

-Is your son/daughter married yet?????

-Wahh!!! your son/daughter very big liaw ho??? Last time he/she was small2 nya... (surprisingly, there would be this visitor who said the same thing every year he/she sees you)

-Aiyoh!!!dont give him ang pow la...hes so big already!!..aiyo!! quick say thank you to auntie/uncle (only applicable when owner of the house tries to give son/daughter ang pows which will almost always ensue with a mild struggle between the 2 parent trying to push the ang pow to and fro...)

-Aiya! Never mind la...let him/her play la...children are like that one lah. (applicable when son/daughter of guest breaks something in the house, or dirties your mom's spent-4-hours-vacuumed carpet. Usually, guest of the house would be secretly cursing the children of their guests when this happens...hahaha)

-Haiyah! This ah girl/ah boy always like that lah...didnt help me refill this biscuit (mum tries to push the blame of having served guests with empty containers to her son/daughter)

-Most commonly, visitors and guests alike would gossip about old friends... “HA?! That Ah Seng got woman outside ah????Aiyoo..so pity the wife ho???”
Wahhh! Your house is very pretty oh!!!.. (fake compliments)

-Wahhh!! Every year i come you are always this young one! (hypocritical statements)

-AH! eat eat! Dont be shy! I didnt prepare anything much la this year (even tho, there's around 20-30 types of cakes and biscuits being served.)

-Basically, anything that is embarassing to house owner will be pushed to owner's son/daughter. e.g. AIYO!!! this ah girl ah!...always mess up my cushion when watching TV! Haiyo..!paiseh paiseh...lai lai..sit lah.! (note:applicable when house owner was the one sleeping cross legged while watching tv on the cushion before guests turn up)

-Then...there's always the hau lien (show off) talk. “Ah..my ah lian cannot come back this CNY la. You know la, she is studying in ENGLAND boh...UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE ah you know? Actually she ngei2 wanted to come back one, but I said no need lah..”

-And lastly, There's the comparing number of grandsons/granddaughters talk.

Hmmm...seems that eighteen is the best i could come up with ... for now. With these surefire guidelines on CNY VISITING, visiting would be oh such a breeze! Enjoy! ;)

The Dawn of A New Era

hehe...i encountered something i found pretty amusing when i was chatting with Red Sponge via net send in office today.
She was sending me a message that goes like this ... “angry”

so i replied her this ...

“*Angry* or Angry”

hahahahaha....dont u think its funny???

hmm .. ok for the sake of those who dont understand me...i think this culture/habit/syntax originated from the early days of chatting i guess...

hmm i cant remember what these little phrases are called...
its like

*Pink cotton nudges Red Sponge in the rib*
or
*Red Sponge jumps up and down out of joy*

ahhhh i hope u get the picture.

Words enclosed in asterisks (*) simply signify an action. So if Red Sponge meant *Angry* that means shes angry. But if its just Angry that could mean a question that shes asking me...like, Angry???

And there's this commonly used Internet culture...typing in capital letters...
before the Internet, it doesnt matter to people whether or not you are typing in caps or not...it doesnt make a difference.

I wouldnt say the same now...

Observe the 2 sentences below :

“Can you please re-type this paragraph?”

“CAN YOU PLEASE RE-TYPE THIS PARAGRAPH?”

Email the second sentence to anyone and you would probly get a reply that goes like this..
“SAY PROPERLY LAH!!! WHAT FOR SHOUT SHOUT???”
heehhehe..

Isnt it amazing how the widespread use of internet has changed our way of communicating??? LOL...

ah!!! thats another one!!!...LOL.....yes! The word “LOL”

few years back, i remember chatting with a friend who obviously didnt spend enough time on the internet...so there we were ...chatting in ICQ..

friend : bla bla bla ( something funny i gez)
me : LOL
friend : whats LOL???
me : errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

my goodness, thanks to internet chatting..i've begun to use the word “LOL” as if it was a legal word in the english vocabulary..!! isnt that amazing??? LOL...oops there i go again!

It is now such a widely used word/phrase that, EVERYONE is using it. Its revolutionary!!!
I think by the time our children makes it to university, English as we know now would have changed. Perhaps LOL would be included as a grammatically correct word in the Oxford dictionary...and if that happens..! Remember... that we used it FIRST! :)

My Boring Journal

As inspired by Red Sponge who posted an entry on her boring night last night, i would also throw upon you,my dear readers...A JOURNAL ON MY BORNIG NIGHT too!!!...YAYY!!!!

-THE END-

Eternal damnation

I was really distraught and affected by the recent rape and murder case of a girl who was abducted while she was jogging around her neighbourhood with her sister.

This is really A CAUSE FOR CONCERN!!!..

what is happening to our community???Why is it that more n more cases of such happenings are being reported??? My heart really goes out to the family members of the murdered girl.

What kind of ANIMAL would do this kind of thing??? Surely, even animals are better than them. Animals, for one, do not simply attack another being without any obvious reasons.

How could anyone try to take advantage of another human is totally beyond my comprehension! What is going on in their INSANE minds to make them think that RAPING is an allowable act?!?! It is the WORST crime ever to be committed.
RAPE is worst beyond description....and what more to say RAPE AND MURDER?!?!

this person is WORST THAN AN ANIMAL, If you ask me!!!

What makes him think that he can just satisfy his lustful desires in that way??? Why dont they ever think of what consequences the family of the victim and the victim would bear by their MINDLESS ACT?!

What kind of a mother would give birth to such an ANIMAL??? Don't they feel any shame for having any blood relations at all to this ANIMAL???????

In my opnion, i think rapists and murderers should be the ones getting DEATH SENTENCES instead of those drug traffickers. What is wrong with our legal system?!? Innocent first-time drug traffickers get death sentences while those ANIMALS get away with just a few measly whips???

They ..should die a terrible death!!! and even in death, they should not be spared from suffering!..they should suffer what their victims suffer but only MORE!! they should be in HELL for eternity!!

I'm sure even our God who is merciful and compassionate is a JUST God.Surely, such a human being who does not even have a hint of compassion in his HEARTLESS BODY will be sent to ETERNAL DAMNATION! I'm sure of it!...There IS a hell somewhere...out there...

sorry for my outburst in this post...but i really must get this off my mind! :)

The BEST service i ever received................................NOT!!!

Somehow, i must vent my anger at streamyx broadband service somewhere...cos it is really getting on my nerves!!!!!!!!!!
i must admit that streamyx is without doubt, one of the lousiest subscription service that i've EVER received! Yes! Its true!!!

I dont think they ever stop in their midst of collecting subscription fees every month to think about what kind of broadband service they are providing to their customers!
Take my area for instance!...over the past 2 months...i think the number of days where my streamyx is acting normal could be counted with my own 2 hands! That IS how bad it is!!!

In december, my streamyx was down for 2 weeks!!!...i was really pissed at that time so i called up the KL helpdesk to lodge a report on this matter. I must say tho, that the helpdesk guy was quite polite but all he was able to do was to ask me to check whether my DSL light is blinking and all those stuffs.
And when i said it was blinking non-stop, he said he would send over a technician to my place.Fine by me!...

1 day passed by...2nd day pased by...on the 4th day i couldnt stand this anymore. I called up an acquantance who was working in streamyx kuching. She was helpful. Within a day of my phone complaint to her, my streamyx was up and working again! She told me that their technician found out that the distribution point outside my housing area was disconnected and it was now connceted again. GOOD JOB!

But then!!!on the following week, down went my streamyx AGAIN!!! can u imagine having to pay for a service where the number of days of it being useable is less than the number of unusable days??? it is terrible!

Ok.so i made another phone call to that acquaintance of mine...and she said a technician would b sent over. Good!

I wasnt at home at the time the telekom technicians came to my house. According to my parents, they were RUDE!!!...and the sour-faced guy insists tat my ADSL SPLITTER is spoilt...fine!
My mom asked him where could we buy the splitter and he said he don sell it. But he said his fren is selling it for rm100+++ and he could help my mom buy. Luckily my mom wasnt stupid enough to be cheated by that bugger.

On the very next day, i managed to buy an ADSL splitter for only rm20 ...it's such a pity i couldnt get a hold of the name of that bugger who went to my house and tried to cheat my mother off her money!

ok.so i tried to replace the old splitter with the new one and TA DAHHH!!!Streamyx NOT working!
We tried this and that and finally with the OLD ADSL splitter, we managed to get my streamyx to work again!

THE STUPID BUGGER CHEATED ME OFF MY RM20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even after that little scenario, my streamyx was sometimes ok and sometimes not!...WHY SHOULD I BE A SLAVE OF A COMPANY WHOM I PAID MONEY TO EVERY MONTH?!?!!?

its simple!...market domination...they being the ONLY broadband service in the whole of Malaysia makes them oh so mighty that we couldnt even do a thing to NOT use their LOUSY service!

It is really frustrating at times...but what can we do??? .... until,a competitor emerges, that is! :

A Yummy Sunday Dinner

Yesterday was my sister's 6th wedding anniversary and they chia-ed us to dinner at LI GARDEN RESTAURANT at Hock Lee centre :)

nothing makes my day like a FREE dinner :P

the dinner was quite pleasant...it was simple and yet satisfying..but the best part of the dinner was
.............................

.............

................

.............................

TA DAHHHHHH...
PEKING DUCK!!!

i think the way Li Garden serves their peking duck is ratehr special.but i dont understand its purpose. Ok, heres how they serve this dish...first,a chef (its ALWAYS the same chef) will push out a trolley with the roasted whole duck and he will park the trolley next to your table and will begin to skin the duck right there.

I think its a shame that most of my family were bz talking away while he was showing off his skills in skinning the duck. I pity him lo...so i took some pics of him at work, to show my appreciation...LOLZZ..

then right after he finished skinning the duck,he will serve the duck phoi2...(skin) together with a plate filled with some flour made skin.i dont know wats its exact name but it looks like the mexican taco to me...only thinner. Then thers anotehr plate of leek and errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........dono wat vege...kekeke..

oh!..and also plates of some sweet sauce...by gosh!!!i've forgotten wat sauce too!
The technique is to spread some of the sweet tasting sauce on the taco like thingy...then u put a piece of the crispy duck skin on the flour-thingy and also a stick of leek n the other stick-like vege. Then u wrap it up..and WAHLAH! U have DUCK SKIN TACO!

Its really nice la...cos...when u bite into it,the juice from the crispy duck skin will flow out...and the combination of the oily taste of the skin with sweet sauce is PERFECTO!!!mmmMmMmMMmm...

i bet you must b wondering where the rest of the skinless duck went??? after a while, the waiter brought over a plate of diced duck meat fried with capsicums and dono wat.
Its not really tat good...or isit bcos i m not very fond of duck meat... :)

but i think that dish is worth every cent...hahaah..bcos its a 2 in 1 dish..kekekeek and i think it only costs rm50 for the peking duck.

After the dinner...i managed to buy a skirt for CNY at Hock Lee.....ahhhhhhhh!!i llurrrrvee that skirt so much that i cant wait to wear it... ;)
but it made me rm45 poorer... :(
how could money get spent sooo easily???

The chef skining the duck.

Woohoo!!! Mouth watering!!!

The taco like thingy...dont know what its called

A piece of duck skin, leek and dono-whatsisname-vege with some sauce and VOILA!!! we have errr....duck skin poh pia! Can you imagine the crunching sounds made by the skin when you bite into it??? MMMmMmmMmMMMmm...

Thandoori chicken

On sunday morning, iwoke up early to go to church and was in a good mood to cook sth :)))
soooo..off to the nearest supermarket i went to shop for stuffs to cook the thandoori chicken as inspired by
miracle8...kekeke...

we bought the maggie err..........maggie THANDOORI chicken mix, some chicken wings + 1 medium-sized chicken tigh,a cup of plain yoghurt, and some kailan just to balance up our lunch...hehe

it was relatively easy to make lar...its basically marinading the chicken with the maggie mix and adding 3 big tablespoonfuls of yoghurt for ½ and hour.
Then the instructions say that, ghee shud b spread on the chicken b4 popping it into the oven for baking. But, im sad to reveal tat i don have any ghee,so i replaced ghee with normal cooking oil..wahahaha...

after tat ... into the oven the chicken went and off i was to chat with Red Sponge on msn...kekekeek...we both chat chat chat...until i remembered tat it was almost 1pm and i haven fry my vege.

So off to the kitchen i went again..and fry fry fry...

That was when my oven went DING and..........my thandoori chicken is readyyy!!! i think it doesnt look like the pic on the maggie package...but ....who cares??? im hungry..........

The thandoori chicken mix...its only rm2!!!

The pieces of chicken marinaded in yoghurt and the thandoori mix.it looks icky doesnt it? 'x'

ahhhhh! the baked chicken...STRAIGHT from the oven!

Looks nice doesnt it??? this pic is complete with steam coming out from the chicken...wahahah...but im afraid it doesnt look much like the pic on the thandoori mix packet...kekekeke

My Restaurant!

Last nite....we finally managed to go to MY RESTAURANT!...its a western food place la...situated somewhere near the muara tabuan roundabout...somewhere after the new lodge school.

i think its weird y some ppl would wanto name their shop MY RESTAURANT..thres anotehr steamboat eatery called MY HOUSE STEAMBOAT...it is really confusing.

its like ...when i ajak ppl to go out eat ah... i will say "EHH kia!...2nite we go MY HOUSE STEAMBOAT!"

then my fren would say .. "HAH?? u so good ah u??? invite us to ur house for steamboat???"

then i would kin teo-ly explain ... "NO NO ...not MY HOUSE...its MY HOUSE STEAMBOAT"

fren "YALAA.. ur house steamboat lah.."

hai...so ma huan..

ok..back to MY RESTAURANT.. (its not MINE...)

again...it has good ambience...thats most important thing about any eatery.if its dirty and unpresentable...then it will surely disgust ur customers at first sight. FIRST IMPRESSION is important!!

i've heard quite a lot abt MY RESTAURANT even b4 i set foot in it. There r some news abt the chef cum owner (he's an ang mo) being the ex chef of CARVERY... u kno the place where u eat meat n more meat until ur tummy wanna xplode?? yup thats the place..

the staff r quite ok!..they r frendly...and the food...is alrite too!

i orderd TIGER BATTERED FISH N CHIPS..while aidy ordered the CHICKEN CHOP.both priced at rm18. i think its a little more xpensive than other eateries in its range lor...like WESTWOOD,WEST WING,SPRING NURSERY,ELEPHANT, ermm and etc etc la.

according to aidy , who heard it from his fren...the TIGER BATTERED FISH N CHIPSs' batter to fry the fish was mixed with tiger beer...thus, the name TIGER BATTERED.

but then le...i dint taste any taste of beer pun...and i think the fish lacks in terms of CRISPINESS!!.. :) but i LUURRRVEE the tartare sauce. the menu says that the tartare sauce was home made...its nice!!!...

oh!! and they give u complimentary garlic bread...the garlic bread is nice!..especially when i spread some tartare sauce on it...hehehe...

as for the chicken chop.........based on the few pieces tat aidy cut for me...ermmm its ok la.but one thing is ..the chicken meat is really tender and yet juicy lo. and the external part is crunchy..! the meat is soooo tender that aidy accidentally swallowed a piece of the chicken wihout biting...i panicked for a while. i tot he was going to puke on the plate...HA HA HA ...

ok..here r the photos...enjoy.... ;)

My tiger battered fish and chips. there were 3 pieces of fish actually.

Our complimentary garlic bread...its NICE!!!

Chicken chop. can you see the juice of the chicken oozing out at the side??mmmmm

BERNOULLI!

If you would just scroll down rite to the very bottom......what do you see on my blog?!?!?!!??!?!/
WHY!!! its my very own virtual pet..........BERNOULLI!!!!..

isnt she cute????????????????????????

my oh my...

My dissertation on the Bernoulli Principle

WARNING : READER, PLS B WARNED THAT THE FOLLOWING ENTRY IS A HIGHLY CRAPPY AND NONSENSICAL ONE. IT IS NOT... I REPEAT!!! IT IS NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED.TQ.

Have you ever experienced a state of mind where your brain have not been used up to its fullest for the day and it starts to wander and think of nonsensical stuffs...

well, i've experienced the same feeling during work 2day.but one good thing came out from this state of mind, cos it gave me the idea to blog abt this dissertation which i am going to partake very soon...

i was in the toilet just now...shee shee-ing away...then in came someone and she went into the cubicle next to mine and she began to shee2 too. the moment she started her 'business', any sort of sound emitting from the toilet was drowned out by this person's 'tinkling' sound on the toilet bowl. it even far surpassed the loudness of my own...

this made me think...............why is it that some ppl urinate more loudly, while some others do not?

almost immediately, the Bernoulli Principle came into mind!

as a flashback for thsoe who have forgotten their FORM 3 SCIENCE...

"As a fluid passes through a pipe that narrows or widens, the velocity and pressure of the fluid vary. As the pipe narrows, the fluid flows more quickly." Adapted from http://home.earthlink.net/~mmc1919/venturi.html

So. from this principle, we can simply conclude that ppl who urinate more loudly have a narrower urethra (i.e. the tube from which urine flows out from the bladder) which is why urine flows more quickly and thus making more sound when it exits from the urethra...

p/s yes! i m having nothing better to do...so sue me!...WAHAHAHAHA

disclaimer : just in case there's anything wrong with the application of the Bernoulli principle, pls do not sue me!... 'x'

pp/s : ah pi!! bernoulli is a nice name...u shud consider naming ur son bernoulli kekekeke

Little China in Kuching!!

Hehe...we dropped by the newly opened Friendship Garden at Jalan Song yesterday nite...it was jst opened on new year's day and since Red Sponge laughed at me for not knowing that it has been opened even tho i'm staying so near to the garden...i was kiasu abit and insisted tat we go there first b4 her...WAHAHAHAA...

apart from that...i oso wanto quickly pay the garden a visit cos i wanto c the garden in all its splendour........................b4 it gets vandalised...heehee....

to be frank...i was really quite amazed and impressed by the garden. its really cool..it has a nice ambience and nice stuff to look at ... or was i impressed bcos everything is still new,the benches...the stuffs there .. the pond...YUP! theres a pond inside bo!... i have been passing the garden every morning when i go to work and i never even realised that theres quite a huge pond init!!

i was only able to see the GIANT ...yup its really a GIGANTIC statue of Laksamana Cheng Ho on a ship or more correctly called a 'tong kang' i gez...however, the size of the statue of Cheng Ho and the ship is not proportionate. Laksamana Cheng Ho (Admiral Cheng Ho) would have sunk if he sailed to Malaysia on that tiny ship...wahaahahha.

the cement ship was in the pond...quite nice really..and you can watch the moonlit pond if you stand at one end of the ship...its like titanic u kno?? u kno the part where Rose and Jack stood at the hull of the titanic with arms widespread and all the IM FLYING thingy??? ya...tats the part...hahahaah. i was telling aidy tat we shud go there and re-enact the IM FLYING part so tat i could put the photo in frenster..but apparently he wasnt too keen... :p

OH YA!..and theres even a two storey chinese style tea house in the garden!!! nice!! ... the whole architecture of the tea house is like erm...if you've watch God of Cookery you would know wat i mean... u kno the building in which Stephen Chow had his final stages of the cooking competition??? with the chinese style roof and the steps...hmm i dono how to describe it...pls refer to pics...hehe...oh an another analogy i could use is erm the old old tea house that they normally show in ancient china movies...where some hero would be drinking tea and eating man tou in there and suddenly jumping in from the window theres the villain with a sword trying to break every table and chairs in the tea house...yup! thats how the tea house looks like...hahah..

i really like the garden la...will go back for sure!! and i wanna try out the tea house ..! its a really cool idea...i heard that it was jointly built by the government of china and DBKU or sth..im not sure :P

oh ! and one more word of warning...there should b no hanky panky around there since theres a 24 hour CCTV installed!...hahaha...

The friendship globe....

Admiral Cheng Ho saying hi on his undersized ship...wahahaha

Jack,Rose and children reminiscing the old-titanic-days on the ship of Cheng Ho.

The front view of the tea house

Some kind of chinese style gateway...with dono wat writings at the top...pls save this pic and zoom in if you wanto know wat does it read ... hee

The side view of the tea house overlooking the pond! NICE!

then we were both walking around lo....THEN!!!! omg!!! gez who did i meet???? why its 13thPanda and Red Sponge...!!!!

...............

............................

...................................................

oH look!!! RedSponge and 13thPanda holding up a piece of marble for me to sit on..AWWWW HOW SWEEET!! 'x' i gez...the panda symbolizes china whereas the monkey/babboon/gorrila? symbolizes malaysia! -_-" r they trying to call us malaysians MONKEYS?!

Cute 13thPanda...i dint wanto take the pic of the monkey cos its ugly 'x'

KFC FISH BURGER

Went to kfc saberkas to try out the new fish burger just now. and here isit...the up,close n personal of the latest product from KFC!!! :)

heres a photo of the box...

all the banner and all the advertisements say the same thing...it all has the same tagline ...which goes like....IT'S BIG!!! when i first saw the advert...i was quite suspicious of its description after what we've experienced with the KFC O.R. FILLET BURGER...it was PUNY!! too puny to b called a burger la..aduh,mai tolong... as you can c from the pic above...the box is oh so big tat i couldnt take a pic of the whole box without knocking into the person sitting behind me...khik

but then ler....when i saw the burger...hmm its really quite big la..altho not oh so big...but ermm...bigger than the regular burger la...

hmmm about the taste of the burger.....i'll give it a 8/10 la...i think it is comparable to MCD'S fillet o fish but i wont go back to mcd bcos of a certain incident on fri ...ah..i'll talk about that one day ;)

but of cos kfc's fish sandwich is bigger than fillet o fish...and its also more xpensive :P

the sandwich consists of one big piece of fish fillet .. topped with tartar sauce...well,i think its tartar sauce cos it doesnt look or taste like your regular tartar sauce to me...hahahha..but its quite nice la..it has a sweet taste to it ..

and underneath the fillet ...thers a piece of cheese...mmm...

must try ..must try...lets create a KFC MOMENT...wahahaha

TGIF!!!

yes!! its friday again!!! yippee...it has been a rather short work-week cos i've been working for only 4 days this week and its another holiday nxt tuesday!! yippee!!!

i'm feeling rather erm...worked out....well not tat much la...but abit la..hehe...me n the gals went for a yoga session after work just now ;P

i think i've been talking about going for yoga since erm...august and only now i could manage to drag my lazy a$$ there...hehe.to be honest, i was actually going there just for the fun of having together time with my gal pals la...ermm and also with the hope that i can lose some weight by stretching this arm n that

i admit that i was quite blur as to what is yoga...and what do they do there...
its a pity i forgot to bring my camera this morning...or else i would b able to take some photos la..haiya!

oh well...we'll just have to depend on my descriptive skills. a 1 hour yoga session will cost you rm8 but if you register for a whole month it will be less..but i forgot how much 'x'

when we reached the place...which by the way is in huising...hehe...the session had already started and the participants were sitting cross legged on the floor while some chanting kinda of music were being played...and by the time we changed from our office wear i think we've already missed out around 5 minutes of the session..dang! they should have refunded us rm2.....

the first 10 min for me was quite a shock...cos i couldnt keep up with those old timers there..my gosh! they were so quick moving here n there...i think the ladies behind me must have been snickering at me ..cos i practically was 'chin chai' doing the moves...haiyerr sia soi...anyway...

i really admired the 'auntie' in front of me....she could her hold her legs in mid air for quite long oo...while i was struggling to balance myself and trying my best not to fall backwards..haiyer...

and then ho..there was another move which involved us swinging our legs clockwise and anti clockwise and i almost kicked my fren's face who was behind me.... OOPS...

after the 1 hour session ... i must admit that my joints and muscles felt stretched and refreshed.....i love it! :)

but there's this one move that i love the most!!! it's where we lie down flat on our back and we close our eyes while sounds of flowing water and birds chirping wre played in the background! i think thats wat i did best thru out the whole nite...wahahahaa!

i have a feeling i will get a very good nites sleep 2nite...cos im starting to feel my body aching...ohh what a shame! thats how it is when the only exercise u ever do is getting out of bed ...KHIK 'x'

Our night out at Sidewalk ;)

Yesterday night we actually planned to try out MY RESTAURANT which is at the muara tabuan roundabout. we've been talking about going there since err...quite long ago la.but le...when we reached there last night...it was CLOSED!! haih...

it was already 7.30pm at that time and we were both rather hungry and couldnt come out with an alternative place to go...at the end we both unanimously decided on SIDEWALK.

actually i planned to blog on what i saw while we were there and how the place looks like etc ,etc but i'm beginning to feel laziness creep in on me so i will only enlighten you on what we had and post the pics here ok? ha ha ha ...

Our candlelit dinner's candle :D

My goblet of FIRE! ... ermm i mean my goblet of hot milk..HA HA HA. i wanted to test out the sayings that a cup of warm milk b4 bed would give u a good nite's sleep.it is indeed true. i had such a nice sleep this morning, that i couldnt wake up and as a result i had to go to work with bushy hair which apparently interest pei quite a lot cos she cant seem to stop talking abt my hair 'x'

Aidy ordered for chicken chop with mushroom sauce...i think it was priced at around rm12.90. there was a scoop of mashed potatoes with some veggies at the side.the portion of the vege was quite little as you can c from the photo...you could actually count how many broccoli and caulifower there were on the plate ..kekeke..but do not be deceived by the little-ness of the chicken chop...there's acutally quite a lot to fill up your tummy ..hee

Ahhh..my fish n chips.served with coleslaw and fries. the tartar sauce was placed in a rather cute cup.i love the mini cup ^_^
the fish was around 12cms in length...hahaha..its nothing to boast about..i've seen bigger pieces of fish in my fish n chips elsewhere :P
at first bite...the tender taste of the fish is quite good. but on the 2nd/3rd and 4th bite, my throat have begun to feel a little sore cos its quite salty ..bleks.. oh ! almost forgot about the price! for the minimal cost of rm14.90 you could have this salty fish n chips 'x'

On an ending note, it's a nice place to go if you want a quiet, nice place to chat or if you want to order some wine for your dinner. they have quite a selection of red and white wine as i could see from the menu ;P
