Sakae Sushi's Member Day!

Last week (20th-22nd September 2010) was Sakae's member day. Actually we just signed up to become a Sakae Sushi member around 2 weeks before that mainly because of the Sakae member day :D The promo tagline for the member day is really attractive...it says 100% rebate on red plate sushi!

Uhoh...ive been ignoring my blog again. I have some product review to post but after taking photos, i'm just too lazy to get my lazy butt off the sofa to blog :( It seems that i only have motivation to edit my food pics...hahahaha.

Recently, we just fell in love with Sakae Sushi. I know it is nothing to shout about compared to some true blue gourmet japanese restaurants that you have to pay an arm and a leg or maybe another arm to eat there...the accessability and price of sakae sushi just appeals to us

Secret Rendezvous

Last Friday, my 2 sisters and I took the day off for a secret rendezvous :) This is not the first time we organize a secret rendezvous but it is always something to look forward to!

We usually start early in the morning with breakfast...

This is my first time here...situated somewhere around Padungan

This is the char siew pau which doesnt really look like char siew to me

I really underestimated this little pau. For some reason or another, eating just one of this small pau is enough to sustain me till 2.30pm! And we had this at around 9am. As a result, we did not manage to eat the rest of the sio bee (siew mai) and egg tarts :P

In between breakfast and lunch, we went to do our hair!... no pics for that :D

For lunch, we decided to go for Sushi King! The waiter recommended the special promotion of the month....

which is actually deep fried salmon belly with rice and some shredded vege

and its only rm8.90!!! valid till 31st march only ;)

i really really love this and have been craving for it ever since! wahaha...

someone did not leave me his sushi king member card before he left Kuching..grrr...so i rummaged around my purse and found this!

this is even better than 10% off..no? :)

after some shopping, we stopped by Starbucks to chill out

2 more stamps before i get a free drink!

Bella Cafe

Went to try out Bella Cafe which is near Song Kheng Hai food court...it is the corner shop near the turning to Song Kheng Hai food court from Padungan Road...yea i suck in directions...further info, pls leave a comment..LOL

He had Pork Teriyaki set with barley drink (RM9)

Which he thought was pretty good...but i didnt reallly like the slimy pork teriyaki...i would prefer crispy teriyaki meat

but the portion was quite good with quite a big portion of fried beansprouts

whereas i had the unhealthier option...nasi lemak....(i forgot the price 'x', could be either 6.50 or 7.50)

i really like the fried chicken...very very crispy and flavourful...i hope they did not fry it with plastic! =x

i had to pay a visit to the toilet while i was there...and u had to walk up a steep fleet of staircase up to the 2nd floor and the toilet has a see thru roof!

see....

and needless to say...it was VERY hot in the toilet at 1pm.

so make sure u dont have to do the kind of 'big business' in the toilet while you r here ok....lest you become a bbq pig

Sisters Day Out

One fine Friday, 3 of us decided to take leave on the same day for a secret rendezvous...

Secret as in not letting any other people in the family know we are not workign la...but at the end, it wasnt much of a secret anyway *shrugs*

To start the day off, we went for a dim sum breakfast at Xin Tsui Siang in the Petanak area (next to Frydays Chicken)

i quite like the place and its dim sum bcos of the affordable price (mostly RM3.80,except for the noodle) and the environment's nice also with free wifi =)

We were quite full after the breakfast and all hyped up to do....some Shopping!

In one morning we went to around 4 or 5 boutiques along the row of shops where Optimax is situated...not sure the name of the road la....but i really like the boutiques there for its affordable price and nice sales assitants =) now i know where i can shop for cny clothes!

after that its off to The Spring...

MAC is open in Kuching!! woohooo

Couldnt decide where to have lunch so we ended up at ...

2 hours after that , we had tea break at Secret Recipe

Seems more like a eating day than a shopping day ho? *burp*

Flashing the card...

One fine afternoon in The Spring, i decided to sign up for the Padini member card where i get special privileges like pre-sale discounts, points for purchases made, and birthday coupon of RM30 every year! its only RM10 per year!

and guess what! i got a RM10 voucher in return

so that makes my member card FREE!!!

so while we were in the mood...went in to Sushi King to apply for the member card as well...

for RM20 you get a 2009 calendar and a set of Sushi King utensils...

and .... guess what???

we got RM20 vouchers...and again ... that makes our member card FREE!

LOL!

what a happy day :)

Unagi Fair @ Sushi King Part II

So after out first little unagi-escapade, we went to try other types of unagi at another sushi king few days later...

i was craving for unagi the whole day in the office all bcos of my little detox plan, i'll talk more about that later 'x'

This time we ordered the unagi tempura...

it's unagi covered with seaweed and deep fried in tempura batter...

verdict??? can do lah....

and we ordered the unagi bento to share since its labelled BIG!!!! (rm19.90)

Do u think THIS is big???

okla the unagi is quite big...but not enough to share

so have you tried out the unagi fair? it ends on the 31st of aug....hurry up!

Unagi Fair @ Sushi King Part I

Read about the ongoing Unagi Fair at Sushi King from several bloggers so we decided to join the bandwagon :P

dont you just love 'catching' the sushi of your choice from the kaiten?
I feel like a predator...eyeing each and every one of the sushi that rotates to my table and then i POUNCE on it...

muahahaha...

anyway...this was the only type of sushi from the unagi promo we ordered that day...LAME!

but this is only part I ...wait lah for part II 'x'

unagi whatsisname sushi (RM5.90) heh..i can only remember the price...

hmm...
isit just me or is the portion served at Sushi King really not much?

Rakutei Japanese Restaurant

We were at Rakutei Japanese Restaurant @ Crown Square last saturday...

I think it's a pretty new establishment...and we've heard of positive feedbacks from some friends who have been there before...

they are having a promotion now...if you spend RM50 and above, you get the privilege card for free. The card entitles you to 10% discount at the restaurant :P

here's our salmon sashimi...

love the nice little presentation of the wasabi :P

i really like salmon sashimi...fresh and slurpy!

here's my tempura bento set...it comes with miso soup and rice...

2 huge prawns!!!! juicy and succulent! :P

only RM16.90...i might get the price wrong but its certainly not more than RM18 ...hehe

as they uses egg tofu instead of the normal tofu...i lap it!

i think it was around RM14.90...oops i m a lousy blogger 'x'

so by now you could tell we were pretty satisfied with the restaurant...they have very friendly waitresses and not to mention cute...well not that i m interested lah!!!..just to attract some of you guys out there...and the place is really nice...i like the ambience

so that's that...and this is not a paid post =_=

Sushi Galore

hehe...guess where i went for lunch today???

sushi king....at THE SPRING...again!!!

we were there for the RM2 sushi promo which coincidentally ends today!

and boy were we stuffed!...we took sushi from the conveyer belt like there's no tomorrow and i love this best of all...

fried scallop sushi...and the plate being pink makes it all the more likeable =) haha!
now where did the other scallop go?

and we found out from the manager that wastage will be charged during the sushi promo...and this.....................

.........is considered a wastage...

after half an hour...this is what 5 of us consumed...

21 plates and counting...
we had 30 plates of sushi ... hehehe

and each of us only had to pay around RM16.78...sushi cannot get any cheaper than this!

and after the heavy lunch...its sleepy time for us in the office...

and look what my colleague bought us while at The Spring...

Big Apple donuts.......................again! hahahaah
i love it when its cold...the topping kinda hardens unlike when its fresh from the oven and the toppings all soft and sticky

p/s Now this is what i like best about PPP. Writing so much about Spring and Sushi King and yet no one's gonna give me anything in return =(
