Well well well...i sorta feel that this blog is getting less and less 'personal' so to speak over the past few months with all my cosmetics reviews, food reviews, etc etc. So since there's only a week or so left till we bid goodbye to the year 2010 and only few days till Christmas, i thought i ought to write something more about my life :)

Toast Bar @ Brighton Square
When we were back in Kuching 2 weeks ago, after spending almost 2 hours in our electricity-less and water-less and fan-less house...we were thirsty and hot and went around looking for someplace new and nice to have tea and since we've heard several people posting pictures of the Toast Bar, we decided to drop by...

New Fav Japanese Place for Sushi-Sakae Sushi
Uhoh...ive been ignoring my blog again. I have some product review to post but after taking photos, i'm just too lazy to get my lazy butt off the sofa to blog :( It seems that i only have motivation to edit my food pics...hahahaha.
Recently, we just fell in love with Sakae Sushi. I know it is nothing to shout about compared to some true blue gourmet japanese restaurants that you have to pay an arm and a leg or maybe another arm to eat there...the accessability and price of sakae sushi just appeals to us

Kuching vs Penang
Took the pics on the left from Prangin Mall multi storey carpark last Sunday...and immediately, i was reminded of the pics (on the right) i took from Star Cineplex, Kuching end of 2008 :)
Don't they look similar??? now it makes me a little homesick :(
i miss Kuching city and the simplicity that makes it Kuching!

Cheese Kong Pia
I'm sure most of you would have heard of kong pia filled with meat by now...but have you tried cheese kong pia?
i read in someone's blog that song kheng hai no 7 stall has this cheese kong pia so i was really curious...
its actually just puttnig cheese slices into the hot kong pia so the cheese melts inside...
not bad but i still prefer the no 7's meat kong pia...nicest i had so far :P
and a trip to song kheng hai is never complete without the fried kolo mee from ah kok stall

Hello from Penang
Hello!!!! i m safe n sound and still alive and am currently 'growing mushroom' in Penang! Imagine cramming everything from resigning, handing over my job, signing my contract with the new company, packing my things, saying goodbye and flying to Penang all in one month...just one month ago, i submitted my resignation letter with trembly hands n feet
i had taken this pic with the intention of blogging about it a month ago...but heh...better late than never! after submitting this letter i was not really on good terms with my now ex boss! GO TO HELL LAH U! okok... we will keep that story for another day 'x'
So goodbye my old cubicle...
this time round, i didnt have a headache packing up my stuff at work cos i tried not to bring as many TOYS to work
but i did bring this little rear view mirror back and even brought it with me to Penang ...*cough cough* just in case
Thanks everyone back in Kuching...colleagues, friends and family who have treated me to lunches n dinners! I've had THREE farewell lunches from my colleagues this time! and of cos the endless buying of dinner n lunches from others :P and also ang pows n gifts....i feel so loved! i might consider leaving again every few years 'x'

Farewell Lunch at Mr Ho
Just got back from Singapore...my bag's still unpacked from the trip and now i have to do my big packing for my move to Penang this sat... arghh...
there are loads of outdated photos on my computer n camera so i just had to post some stuff before they all get forgotten...
Some of my colleagues gave me a farewell lunch at Mr Ho's fine dining on easter sunday...i think the place would be nice to take nice photos in natural lighting so i brought my dslr there on that day, which is quite a rare occurence for me :P
they are having set lunch menu with an entree, main dish and dessert for only RM15.90!
here comes the salad...
and we had extra orders of mussels...
this is the fried rice with roast pork and fried egg on top from menu 1
looks like your simple average joe dish but at the end it proved to be better than our oglio olio with roast pork from menu 2 :(
here it is...
i find it a little on the bland side...i would prefer their pesto spaghetti
we also ordered the small sampler plate which didnt prove to be small at all!
a combination of roast chicken, roast pork, sausages, pork ribs...
and of cos came the dessert at the end...love the bread pudding =)
made me search for bread pudding recipes on thet net :P

MyPrivilegeBook 2009
Remember my little post on MyPrivilegeBook ? It was written in a bid to win the MyPrivilegeBook 2009 in a competition organized by kuchingbloggers.com and Ivoq Concept and guess who got the consolation prize?? :)
I was sooooo happy and pleasantly surprised cos i think my post was rather shabby compared to the others...but who cares...now i have my very own copy of MyPrivilegeBook 2009!!
Went to collect it last Friday at The Spring...they gave me...
Cool!...i love desserts ice cream...
And a pillow...
Now i have 3 of these pillows (one from MyPrivilegeBook 2008 giveaway, one i won from this competition and another one which i won from the lucky draw when i went to collect MPB 2009)
And of cos ... there's the MPB 2009!!!
More restaurants are participating and more of them are giving discounts if you present your MPB Card...i think this is better than tearing out the coupons whenever you need to go dine at participating outlets...more convenient!
And i m gonna use the coupons in the book to do my hair b4 cny 2009! woot!
*happy*

Bella Cafe
Went to try out Bella Cafe which is near Song Kheng Hai food court...it is the corner shop near the turning to Song Kheng Hai food court from Padungan Road...yea i suck in directions...further info, pls leave a comment..LOL
He had Pork Teriyaki set with barley drink (RM9)
Which he thought was pretty good...but i didnt reallly like the slimy pork teriyaki...i would prefer crispy teriyaki meat
but the portion was quite good with quite a big portion of fried beansprouts
whereas i had the unhealthier option...nasi lemak....(i forgot the price 'x', could be either 6.50 or 7.50)
i really like the fried chicken...very very crispy and flavourful...i hope they did not fry it with plastic! =x
i had to pay a visit to the toilet while i was there...and u had to walk up a steep fleet of staircase up to the 2nd floor and the toilet has a see thru roof!
see....
and needless to say...it was VERY hot in the toilet at 1pm.
so make sure u dont have to do the kind of 'big business' in the toilet while you r here ok....lest you become a bbq pig

'Go-Kaki' Chicken Rice
The kaki lima chicken rice in Petanak...hehe...i wasnt so keen on the idea of tapao-ing chicken rice from the roadside when i can get nice looking chicken rice from a nice comfortable shop
But it was certainly a very different experience of buying chicken rice. The tauke has several pots there which he will open up one by one for you to choose. There's chicken and pork :P
To be honest, it wasnt that good...wahahaha
but it is a special experience ;)

Sarawak Blackout 090808
The time was 6.45pm...i was busy preparing for my saturday night out and then ..POOF!
all the lights went out...so its ok...hurriedly put on my makeup in the dark =_= and rushed out cos the house was HOT!!!
and see what greeted us on the road...
total blackout ...traffic lights out...traffic in chaos...
so we thought if we got out of the area there will be electricity downtown...i smsed a reliable source who's near down town and she confirmed with me that there was no electricty there too!
drove further down...the sky getting darker...
still no light found!!! smsed another reliable source from miri and he confirmed with me that miri is also experiencing the blackout...tsk tsk...
except for a certain mr big shot ...
his house was fullly lit
anyway...went back home to have dinner cos we didnt trust any eatery to cook proper food in total darkness
and i ended up finishing Loco Roco on someone's psp :)
in total darkness...
after i finished...i was almost blind
p/s the electricity came back after 2 hours...WHAT THE F! the blackout practically MURDERED my saturday night...i want a refund!!! can ah?

Kuching Fest 2008 (Part I)
It's Kuching Fest season again!
It was a last minute decision to go there as my weekly monday night meeting was cancelled...WOOT to that
the usual crowds were there...and the usual stuff were there...like this fried ice cream
Selling at RM1.70 a piece...i just had to make it a point to try it at least once every year...
it is not super duperly nice...but the fact that its a FRIED...ICE CREAM just really attracts me...cos it beats me how they manage to fry something that melts so easily like ice cream...
and of cos the taiwan sausage...
i had wasabi flavored pork sausage at RM2 a piece...
and lookie here...
bwahahaaha....eh?coincidentally that's how spongebob laughs too...
my very own helium filled floating spongebob...me likey! :)
i had my very own helium filled balloon too last year..and believe me you, it is harder than it looks to be an adult carrying a helium filled balloon to the car among the crowds...i kept telling myself im almost there ....almoooooost there...
oh..its RM8 per spongebob 'x'
p/s apologies for the high noise level photos...it makes my post so blah...sigh

Taman Bukan Sahabat
One day after work, we decided to take a quick stroll around the neighbourhood to burn off some unwanted fat and we saw this beautiful double rainbows...
so walking senselessly around the neighbourhood we ended up at the nearby shop to buy ice cream...
so much for exercising! =_=
and while walking back, we had to walk pass this small little neighbourhood park...
now, everyone knows about the famous Friendship Park (Taman Sahabat) that was jointly set up by the China & Malaysian government rite?
but look at what we have in our neighbourhood...
TAMAN BUKAN SAHABAT
hahaha...we had a good laugh over that...you just have to give credits to them for their sense of humor :D

Sakura of Kuching!
Not sure whether any of you in Kuching have noticed that most of the trees planted along the road is now blooming!!!
It is hard to believe that the ordinary looking trees that we drive pass everyday could actually bloom such beautifulpink flowers!
Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the flowers...literally =)
on a totally different note...
look at this mini super cute yiu char kueh...
it's only as long as my pointing finger! somehow it appears bigger in this pic...but you must know how big is my pointing finger to judge...it is not big lor :P
you may go search for it in the new Stutong Market! ;)
