"Floating" Balloons

If you would ask me to name a few things that will put a smile to my face...it would be those helium-filled-floating-in-the-air-balloons!

You would say i m very childish hor??? but i m very attracted to how it floats n bobs along as you hold it in ur hand :)

But hor...actually got story explaining why i loveeee helium balloons...

Story A:
Long long time ago...when i was a little girl...my mom brought us to the stadium to watch some sort of performance which i have totally no idea what it was now...

And there were ppl selling these helium balloons and mom bought one for me...i think bfore that ive always pestered her for one but that was the FIRST time she actually bought one for me ...hehehe

So of cos i was a very very happy girl...and went into the stadium and took a seat with the balloon happily floating up above me ...

But halfway thru ... i somehow loosened my grip and as i looked up...OMG!!! my pretty balloon has floated up up and away :((((

Mom promised to buy another one for me but she never did (i dont know why la)

Story B:
Believe it or not ... that was the first and last time i ever had a helium ballloon!!! The next story happened many many yrs later when i was still in college.

We went to a charity food fair and again there were ppl selling helium balloons! I was with a dear friend...and i think ive ever told her how much i love helium balloons (bcos i was SERIOUSLY deprived of those balloons in my childhood!!!!)

So she said why dont she get one for me...but i rejected her offer with the excuse ....DONT WANT LAR...SO SHY WANTO BRING A BALLOON AND WALK AROUND THE FAIR

So we both walked away from the man selling balloons and went our separate ways to search for food...after a while...we met up again and lo and behold she was holding a red floating balloon in her hand!

She told me she bought it for herself...

When it was time to go...and we went to our car...and she gave the balloon to me.Of cos i was very surprised...cos i thought she bought the balloon for herself mah...

but she said she was only helping me to hold it while we were walking around the fair cos i felt shy mar...she actually bought it for me!!!

awwwwwwwww so sweet of her...sob sob.. and i kept the balloon floating in my room until all air went out and it was just a red piece of rubber

hehehehe....so we were at the Kuching Fest just now and saw a lot of ppl holding those legendary amazing balloons again!!!

and this time...i had the chance to bring one home again!!!! thanks to mr bf! (only now did he realised i have an everlasting crush on those floating balloons???)

Chose a big pink smiley faced balloon with a red doggie on top!

You may scoff and laugh at me for being so easily pleased...but u dont know how much these balloons mean to me!! (for whatever weird reasons)

I am a happy happy girl 2nite ^_^!!!

Sarawak Cultural Village

U wanto know why i finished my Harry Potter book so late???

Because...on the day after i got the book...i was FORCED to leave the house to bring mr big boss around...

What to do???dont feel like going out also HAVE to go out...at least we got free lunch...HEHEHEHEHE...

Brought him to the Sarawak Cultural Village!...

See the clouds covering the mountain???i told you we have nice weather these few weeks lor :P

Its called the "living museum" where guests could visit the various traditional houses of the major etchnic groups of sarawak....which includes the chinese,malay,iban,bidayuh,melanau...and i dont know what

The arrangement of the living room in this malay house was so real it almost made me want to sit down n expect ppl to serve me some hari raya goodies...

Most photos taken with my lousy camera turned up to be quite good bcos of the scenic location...

In the Melanau house,this killer of a staircase...

Was the cause of me wobbling like a duck for 2 days!! I tell you its not a pretty sight to see me walk up the 4 flights of stairs to my office with a twisted muscle!


In the .... OH MY GOSH1 I forgot what house is this...

We were entertained by him...

Entertaining us with a traditional musical instrument plugged in to a not-so-traditional thingy.
My colleague and i was debating whether or not he was wearing any underwear under that skimpy piece of cloth...i leave that to your imagination >-)

Entrance fee was RM25 for malaysians and RM60 for non-malaysians..the last time i went here was when i was 12 yrs old...and surprise surprise...the place had not changed much since then...or is my memory failing?

Picnic!!!

When i finished reading my precious Harry Potter book ... it is time to get my butt out the doors!!!

Packed ourselves some chicken sandwich and we're off to...

The Sarawak Cat Museum...but no....we did not get to go into the museum...hehehe...we'll leave that for another day...

But instead we spent some time enjoying the nice cool weather and the nice green grass...

And with views like this....my sandwiches produced under conditions of my below average culinary skills 'x' can never taste better!!!

Kuching is really experiencing nice weekend weather for 2 weeks now...

so u better get your butts out of the house and enjoy the great outdoors before we all gonna barbeque in the heat again ... theres certainly no better time to get outdoor

The End

FINALLY finished reading THE BOOK!...

OMG!!!! I just had to lock myself in my room for the whole of friday night so that i can reach the ending b4 the weekend starts...and boy! it was worth every single minute of my friday night...

The suspense...! the twist and turns in the story!....MY GOD MS ROWLING! YOUVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!

and i must say this is the BEST HARRY POTTER BOOK ever!!!....

the ending was certainly not what everyone expected...but it was good!!! tho i wished she would spend more time on the ending or maybe a SEQUEL???

all in all...it was rm109.90 well spent! ^_^

normal blogging will resume as usual...hahaha

Guess who appeared on the front page of the blahblahblah(dono the name) chinese daily yesterday???

yeah! you guessed it rite! my arm n my bag did!!!!
and oh! my hair! :) hehehe

I m still halfway thru the book cos i din get to touch it the whole day yesterday :(((

One of my friend sms-ed me just now and asked me whether ive finished the book cos she has finished it!!!!!! *kiasu-ness sets in*

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

THE DAY is finally here!!! the release of the final instalment of the highly popular harry potter book series!!!!

Armed with my pre-order receipt (which i had made 3-4 months ago 'x')

Managed to FORCE someone to wake up early so that i can redeem my book! YAY!!!

I've been told that Popular Tun Jugah was going to have some kind of special stage for the launching of the book at the ground floor... but i was met with this notice on all the glass windows of popular book store...

The 3 major malaysian bookstores (popular,mph and times) have decided to withdraw the sales of harry potter and the deathly hallows and to cancel all events related to the launching in protest against Tesco and Carrefour for selling the books at a MUCH MUCH lower price of RM69.90 instead of RM109.90 (read all about it here)

Damn you tesco and carrefour...i was so looking forward to taking pics of the nicely decorated stage!! =(

And while i was taking a pic of the notice on the glass window...a guy with a big a$$ camera came over to me and asked whether he could take a photo of me looking at the notice!

HA HA HA HA wat a joke!...i din ask him ..but i guess hes a reporter from a local newspaper (I HOPE!!!) So if you see a pic of someone looking at the notice on the newspaper 2moro...its probably me :) and no i did not wear pink!

So anyway .... lets see whats in the package... *open package like a 6 y/0 on xmas day*

My preciousssssssssssssssss no one can touch my precious until i finish reading...

It is disapointingly SHORT!...the book i mean...only 600 pages long!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO...i was hoping the last book will be at least 1k :(

And oh.popular bookstore gave me a free tshirt too

Seems to be XXXXXXXL size...nvm la..can wear to sleep =)

The first thing i did was to flip back to the last page of the book cos JK Rowling once told her fans that the last word in the last book will be "scar"...but its not! and that proves another thing too!...the online copy of the book which was claimed to have been hacked from the publisher months ago is FAKE!!!...BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to those who attempted to spoil all the fun for me by revealing the story to me!!!! DIE YOU!!!

So...now if you'll excuse me...i m going to hug my doggie and jump into bed and read my harry potter book...

Stupidity on a Thursday

Have been rushing for something at work this week...cos the task is due by the end of this week.

And in order to do this, we have to remotely login to a PC which is located in elsewhere...so since today is thursday already...the tension is mounting!

So just now i was logging in to the remote pc...and i was very blur at that time (3pm is sleepy time) and logged in thrice without thinking much about the password i type in...

What now??? if i contact administrator...they will only be able to resolve this tomorrow...

On Suicide

Last evening, we got a piece of terrible news.

A friend of ours in college passed away...we were shocked!

As far as we know, he was a healthy person doing quite well in life. Little did anyone know that he was facing a problem so big that he had taken his own life.

The fact that he took his own life shocked us even more! That is the worst thing any living being could do to themself.

I dont think there is any problem that is too big that it cant be solved. And it should be a thought that should never cross over our minds no matter how big a problem we are facing.

This made me realised an email on suicide i received 3 years ago. It was a very good email and it was lucky i still kept it (thanks to the unlimited storage space of yahoo! mail ). As i found the mail just now...i looked through the mailing list...trying to see whether this dear friend was in it...but unfortunately no =\

So ... i m going to post it up here...so that anyone who DOES search for anything related to suicide might come across this post...read on...

Of Farewells

Said goodbye to another close friend today...

life seems to be full of goodbyes and farewells as you grow older dont you think?

People come and people go...and days passed will never return :)

This is the cactus plant she gave us b4 she left...

Have been appointed the official 'caretaker' for the cactus ... this is making me quite nervous

As some of you might know what happened to this little seed ....wahahaha

Some more need to make sure the cactus grow (at least an inch 'x') by the time friend comes back from the land where kangaroos hop...

Dear cactus plant...PLEASE GROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far so good...have been giving Mr Cactus here a sip of my own drinking water every now and then ... hehehe :D

Thick black smoke coming out of the Hyundai (?) showroom ... i wonder can claim insurance or not if the cars in the showroom's burnt?

reading this news article brought to mind one particular incident which i encountered few months ago...

We were buying some stuff at a shop and the shop was having a sale.So naturally with 10%/20% discount, it is quite unavoidable to not have items with prices such as RM12.97 or RM99.95...

So of cos i tried to dig out all the 1 cent coins from my purse to pay lah!!!

But u know what the cashier said??? She said "SORRY WE DONT ACCEPT 1 CENT COINS"

I looked at her and ask her "1 CENT NOT MONEY AH???"

But too bad she was very polite and smiled apologetically at me so i could not find fault with her

These people!!! dono how to do businesss!!! Then how her boss expect me to pay ah??? u round up the value for me lor...lets say i pay RM12.90 for RM12.97??? how's that???

or u expect me to pay you RM13 for a RM12.97 item????then better don give discount lah!!!! HMPH...

So went to watch Transformers just now..............and guess who i met?!?!?!?!?

I wanted to pre-order (if there was such a thing) the tickets to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix just now but was stopped by the bf! hmph

So anyway the rather skeptical me was 'dragged' to watch Transformers today after hearing so many positive feedbacks from numerous people.I was skeptical about a movie of transforming robots being good!

Actually the transformers cartoon don really have a very good impression on me lor...cos last time when i was small small...my brother used to fight over the TV with me when Transformers is showing *yawn*

And thats why i hate it so much...and of cos partly bcos of the stupid "Transformers" song he used to sing after the show...and now the bf is singing it too!!!!! no thanks to my big mouth for reminding him of the stupid song...so anyway..........

I can still remember that transformers cartoon used to clash with Care bears /Smurfs (cant really remember) during that time and hence the "fighting over the tv"

But then hor..........if now there's a Carebears THE MOVIE or Smurfs THE MOVIE showing in the cinema...i doubt very much i will fork out RM10/ticket to watch the movie lor...but here i am!!!! paying RM10 to watch TRANSFORMERS?!??!?!!?!?

The IRONY!!!!

The movie...was.........hmmm....not bad lar...above average but not excellent!~...hehehe *ducks from rotten eggs*

But one thing's for sure...big bulky robots just CANNOT become heroes...

Cos before the city has been saved...half of it would already be lying in ruins...KEKEKEKE
