Today is a special day!!! the february 29th!

i dont know about you, but its a bit mind-boggling to me cos today is an EXTRA day!

if this year was not a leap year...today would have been 1st of March!

thus making this year...one day longer!

hmm...and it comes only once in FOUR YEARS!

can u imagine that???

if you think about it, the leap day should be an even bigger deal than new year's day or christmas day or chinese new year cos those come once every year...

that makes a leap day more exclusive...more special!

previously...on heroes ... sorry have been watching heroes season 1 non stop for the past 1 week...i m suffering from a little post-heroes-symptom

*ahem*previously...i said we couldnt get into the house cos it was all mud and cement and bricks rite???

we found another way to get in last week...

use back door lor!...so silly...and here we even have good cement pathway to walk...
what for wanto use the muddy path??aiyo...

anyway, 2nd storey is almost done...minus the roof...and see what we have here!

In response to ah lost's post about using handphones at petrol kiosks, i would like to post about the same thing...

few weeks ago...mr bf went to a petrol kiosk to pump petrol la of cos...so while he was filling the car...i saw one lady speaking on the phone while pumping petrol lor...its crazy i tell you!

at first she was holding the phone with one hand and pumping petrol with her other hand *slaps head*

then ho...she walked to our side of the pump and talk there!!!

what the ..............!!!!!

even with the recent opening of the sparklingly brand new super malls in Kuching...still the 20++ year old wisma saberkas is getting its usual throng of shoppers...

anyway...the nanyang wushu association was having a performance of lion dance there last nite...

KFC XL Burger

Time to dish some dirt on another KFC product...

On Wed lunch...i thought i might wanto try out this OOOO-SOOOOO-BIG burger without any side dishes and without any drinks...cos i was preparing myself to get stuffed ok?

it is after all a TRIPLE X L BURGER...

so lets open up the box...

what do i see??? a very thin 7 inch bun...oooookay...

open it up and...

2 triangular pieces of very thin fried breast meat put VERY far apart from each other on the long bun...

what the.......

only the bun is big!!!!....apart from that.....gimme zinger anytime!

kfc should REALLY STOP being ambitious with other products and just stick to what they know best!!!... and it cost me RM6.80 for that measly burger...

anyway...chinese new year just around the corner...can u feel it???

A Walk Down Memory Lane

Well well well...it has been my 3rd week at the mandarin class and i m still going!!!...

got improvement or not???

lao shi (teacher) kept on praising me on my improvement...ahem ahem ahem *kembang*

on wednesday i managed to sneakily take some pics while the teacher was busy helping another student...

look...!

no more blackboard leh!....now the students are using whiteboard with marker pens....tsktsk tsk how fortunate...

last time if you were caught talking in class the teacher might throw the chalk-dust-infested-duster at you and u will end up with a powdered face...and lets no forget that chalk might be hazardous to our health...tsktsk..how lucky the students today...

but this sight is a familiar one lor...

the teacher's desk with flowery plastic covers...heeheeheee

and another familiar sight...

the wooden tables and chairs full of graffiti and scrawlings such as PC LOVES GB ...or you could be using your ruler and cutting lines into the wooden tables...i wonder why???

i looked around the classroom and every single object inside it brought me back to days of old when i was still in primary school...reminiscing some of the events from my own school days...

and as i turned back to face my own desk...i looked down and the present was staring straight at me in the face.................

hehehe...but hor..i really love this mall...it took me 2 visits to visit all the shops inside...i m so happeee...

went back to THE SPRING again yesterday...

ytd i found this...

mary janes,flip flops...OMG ... all the ugly crocs all under one roof!!!...this is the first time i see so many ORIGINAL crocs in Kuching...sobsob...we kuchingites have been tortured for so long....no more flying to kl for these too! =)

and what more...

Parkson Grand THE SPRING...actually gave me RM20 just like that! no prior spending required...GOOD OR WHAT???

but...last nite after my company's annual dinner...on the way back (i need to drive past THE SPRING to reach home) and this is WHAT I SAW...

DAMN BLAHDI HELL....ALL THE F WORDS....the queue was moving an inch a minute...WTH...

and people were cutting queues here and there...F F F F F and more Fs...

Spring Time is Here!

The Spring is finally open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have been waiting and waiting for this day for almost a year i guess??? the jam was sooooooooooooooo long on its opening day (Thursday) and i really really wanna go cos i wanto claim my RM20 parkson gift voucher...hehehe...had to park at the shoplots opposite cos the queue into the basement carpark was much too long!

The spring here i come!!!! so excited!

i almost kissed the floor i walked upon...

u cant blame me u kno??? all those years...we Kuchingites had to pay air tickets to fly to KL just to get brand names like Padini,Esprit,Guess... just to name a few and to eat at places like Sushi King, Manhattan Fish Market...but now!!...now!!!....we have it all right here in Kuching!!!!

omg!!!..it felt so surreal!...hehehe...we were all saying perhaps we wouldnt have to fly to KL for our shopping nxt time ... dont know lah...

i love the interior...

i love the decor...

i love the shops...

and as i type...i wish i was in the spring...kekekeke

now there goes my bonus for this year and next year and the year after next.............its a girl's paradise and a guy's nightmare!!!...

I smell a Rat!

When i got into my car after work yesterday...i smelt something unpleasant...
i endured the smell throughout the whole journey from my office to my home

and the first thing i did when i drove into my driveway was to get out and check every nook and cranny...my initial suspect was there could be a dead lizard in my car lor...or maybe someone accidentally dropped a piece of smelly tofu in my car

i flip over all the mats and sniffed and sniffed....nope no lizards or tofu

as i was just about to give up...i thought of looking underneath my car and lo and behold!!!!!! i saw something long,thin and black hanging out from under my car....next thing to do??? SHRIEKKKKKKKK

did you know how my dad got the rat out??? he had to unscrew my mudguard and so on in order to get to the stupid rat!!!

and the smell OMG............................and the worst thing was...the rat was already maggot infested -_-""" and the worst worst thing was....the rat's tummy had already EXPLODED (if thats the right term for it)

cant blame me lar...cos i did not drive my car at all during the weekends...the rat might have already been there on friday night...heeeeeeeee...i dont know

armed with TWO cans of aerosol spray i sprayed and sprayed the area ... :(((

my poor car........ no longer a virgin 'x'

i now have a vengeance for rats too...its 2nd on the list after cockroaches...i m so gonna get a cat!!

My Nightmares Revisited

I was never Chinese educated...the ONE and ONLY chinese class i ever attended was during my kindy years where each chinese character i wrote was a big challenge for me...

so much so that by the end of my kindy years...me the 6 yr old girl told my mom that i DONT WANT to study in a chinese primary school...over my dead body!

my mom agreed maybe because i was a headache to tutor...wahahaha...somehow I just cannot make those chinese character strokes sink into my brain

last week...mr bf suggested taking mandarin night classes cos we r chinese after all...it is good to go back to your roots no? so i agreed ... 2nite was the first class

when we reached there...the place was full of white-haired uncles O_O!
its almost as if they were teachers pulled out from a chapter in my primary school life (17 years ago!!!!)

(we later learnt that they were retired school teachers)

and registered ourselves and paid for the registration fee.The uncle of a teacher pulled out a yellowish receipt book and wrote out our receipt...

doesn this look like a page torn out from your 20 yr old exercise book?!?!?!! i was like OMG when i saw the receipt book...where did he find it??? the museum

and look at the dollar sign ($) the last time we used $ was like when??? 1990??? DOUBLE OMG!!!!

So we sat down and he asked us to jot down the chinese characters from the whiteboard and we have to like write it down many many many times...

like so...

hahahaahahah...as i write every painful strokes...the memory of me learning mandarin in my kindy years hit me one by one...the agony...the horror!!!!

and to think that i m stuck in this class not for 1 month...not 2 months..not even 3 months .... its for A YEAR!!! and its not even once a week or twice a week...its THRICE a week....!!!

I M SO DEAD!

the room is dark and air conditioned with man made barriers all around...and each player is equipped with a laser gun and a special vest which has laser sensors

there are several game scenarios which you can choose from :

and i must say it was FUN FUN FUN!!!...and good exercise too!
