Do you know who or what are put-downers???
Its those people who can NEVER be happy on your achievements and who will always find some fault in ALL your achievements to be shoved right into your face!
Does that sound familiar?
They are the people who will always try to make themself feel good whenever someone is better off than them or someone knows more than them...ahhhh then there will be there to let you know that YOU ARE NOT THAT GOOD U KNO???
Very often, they will be there to blow their own trumpets too...
All they wanna do when they hear about your achievement is not to be happy on behalf of you but they want to let you know no matter what you achieve...they are still better...cos your achievement has this and that....and the list goes on...
I hope you get what i mean by now and perhaps maybe you would have some image of someone whos like that in mind....hohoho...
I think ive read somewhere that such people are actually very inferior of themselves and thats why they like to put other people down just so that they can STILL feel good about themselves.
I think thats just an EXCUSE!
Its a really bad habit and its time you do something about it no matter how inferior you are!
Religion is not an issue too...cos ive seen very devout Christians who 'alleluia' every Sunday (or perhaps more) and yet they have the symptoms of a put-downer!
Is it so bad to at least give people some encouragement??? or appreciation??? I know these people...they are always ready to find some faults in you whenever you achieve something and will be the first to rejoice when you meet the first glitch
I am not pin-pointing any ONE person with this post...now that most people i know are reading my blog...but then again, if you are a PUT DOWNER...i think you would have 'felt the pinch' when you read this post huh? >-)
I don want to restrict myself from really saying out what i have in mind now for the fear that i might offend someone i knwo who is reading my blog...cos the truth is...thats YOU im scolding about in my blog!!
On a happier note...for those who are concerned about me on friday the 13th...guess what??? i did not fall down~~woohooo~
But i was EXTRA careful the whole day 'x'
However......................
I DREAMT i fell down on friday nite =\
I guess it must be all the pressure of NOT FALLING DOWN on friday the 13th...haha!

i ger what u mean, these kind of ppl looks very positive but they are very pessimistic and afraid of failiure in fact thats why they envious of other ppl's achieverment thats why they'd try to bring other ppl down...so that ppl will see them so high up! .duh..
hope they'd trip every friday 13th:P opps. why i so evil!

they step down or mock others so that they will look great and others will see them high.. And this involves ego too.. It is hard for them to praise others..

Hrmm... they actually do not realize that they do so just to boost up their confidence. They do so unconsciously. I mean, not 'put down' others unconsciously. They just thought they what they are doing r right. N in fact, they would act that way because deep inside, they feel so inferior bout themselves, and consequently...
can't change a tiger's stripes, eh? some are like that, which we'll all have to learn to take their boasting and criticisms with a few pinches of salt. don't let it get to you. you know what you're capable of and what you've achieved, and that's a great thing!

I detest Put-Downers too, PC, and I have had a few of these at my Blog too. They enjoy making snide remarks, just for the thrill of it, without realizing how hurtful they can be. But I guess they don't understand the meaning of being subtle, much less, being nice. Sometimes, I think they think they are being very funny and smart too!
Why, hor, is it so difficult to be nice? I have no idea. What is so expensive about being nice? Is being rude and mean and nasty cheaper? It doesn't cost us anything to be decent, ya? Oh well..

i ignore the put-downers or come up with an 'up-put-downer attack' when i absolutely cannot tahan.
it goes like, 'wah we did this and that and we got this and that and we are first in this and that..'
believe me, they will walk away before you can finish. lol.

totally understand how you feel. I know some people like that too and it gets really, really annoying.. but then again, those put downers are the one who suffer from low self-esteem, that's why they have to go around and 'bully' people like us. hah!
