Cheng huat seafood

Went to cheng huat seafood at butterworth for lunch just now. I was following my boss's car. As you can imagine, I would never ever make my way to butterworth for lunch if you would ask me to drive. So for that, i'm grateful people are willing to drive me there :D

Nothing much to shout about except for this thing which I've never eaten before...


Looks like pigeon rite? I thought it was pigeon but it's actually chicks Aka keh kia!!! It's pretty geli. My mind kept on playing a scene of a cute yellow fluffy chick while I was eating it. And needless to say I didn't enjoy it.

I told my colleague it had sort of a milky taste but then chicks don't drink milk! What the hell am I talking about

Grumpy

So I was back in Kuching for a very short trip over the weekend and now back in Penang again. Coincidentally, the day I flew back to Penang was the exact same day I packed my bags and moved to Penang last year. So it has been exactly a year now :)

Everytime I come back from a holiday, instead of feeling refreshed, I'm always feeling grumpy and irritable! Irritating people please get out of my way!


On a different note, don't u like the hello kitty shaped pudding??so cute rite? But I Forgot to try one before I left Kuching! Gahh!!!

Driving skills

Today I gave our US colleague a ride out for lunch. And he was saying in the car...."my god! This is crazy driving!"


I m very indignant! I don't drive crazy! I drive very carefully! I iz good driver!!! Grrr!!!

Echoes of the Rainbow

This movie has touched me so much that i MUST blog about it :)

It appeared to be "just another mediocre movie" when we saw the poster in GSC. We were hesitant to watch it because we didnt want to end up being disapointed. And furthermore, the movie didnt receive much publicity too...in the end, after a quick search on the internet and we found good reviews...we just went ahead and booked tickets for it since we were out of movies to watch >.<

it was so sad to see that there were only around 15 of us in the cinema just now, i guess most people were like us...not too sure whether its a good movie. but i heard so many sniffings just now...the guy in front of me was suddenly coughing loudly during one of the sad scenes...ROF...i bet he was trying to mask his sniffs :P

do watch it and bring your tissues along! for the ladies, pls wear waterproof mascaras :P
I was a little "unfortunate" to be watching it straight after work with full eye makeup O_O i had to rush to the toilet straight after the movie to clean up my face 'x'

Breakfast

On my bid to eat healthy and *cough* lose weight, I have been having breakfast cereal for breakfast for the past week.


For some reason, people think it's funny for an adult to be drinking milk. Duhh!!! Bcos of that, I was a little paiseh when I m eating my cereal in my cubicle. I had to eat quietly bcos the cereal makes a big crunch whenever I munch. Keke

Kuching cars

I shipped my car over to Penang when I moved here. Therefore my car is one of the hundreds with a Kuching car plate :) and for some reason, I always get so excited when I see another car with a Kuching car plate. I would go like "Look!!! Kuching car!!!" lol

Yesterday morning, I saw another car with Kuching car plate but it was so dilapidated that I felt a little embarrased

Feet saviour

I always have problem buying shoes cos for some reason my feet can only wear certain design of shoes comfortably. Crocs for instance. But I can't be wearing crocs to work rite?? Which is why I have been spending money on heels which I can't wear bcos my feet hurts too much. This is when I found this...


I've seen it in pharmacies but never give it much thought. But I just spent money buying a pair of heels which I like a lot but can't wear bcos my feet hurt too much :(

Just stick it on the insides of your heels and it's like having a mini cushion inside!


Please pardon my smelly shoes :p

It's so good I went and bought another one last nite! Hee.

P/s this sounds like a paid post but it's not. Lol

Bkt Jambul climb

Few weeks ago, i went on a hike up bkt jambul for the very first time. When my colleague described the climb to me, I was under estimating it a bit. I was thinking to myself, how bad can it be...

Heh. Look!some people are even carrying these big bottles f water up the hill...



Boy! Was I wrong! The climb was steep and I thought I would not make it. Around 45 mins later, this is the view you can see

And there's even a group of volunteers who provide you with free drinks on top


Dammit! I shud not have been carrying my mineral water bottle all the way up!

And the weird thing is, they even have exercise machines for you to use at the top. Like,who could still exercise after the arduous climb?!?! God knows

We started our descend at 6.20pm and someone brought us on the wrong route round n round the hill -_-" we finally reached the foot of the hill at 730pm!

Needless to say, I had a big and unhealthy dinner that night :)


It really feels good knowing how much calories you have already burnt :p

And.. Look who walked like a duck for the next 4 days...

Meow

While I was walking to the elevator in my condo yesterday evening, I saw a cat sitting there. I looked at it and it looked at me and I said "meow" and it replied with another meow and he began to walk over to me and started rubbing my legs. Keke


I don't know why isit that cats can Understand and reply u with a meow whenever u meowed at it


Try saying woof to a dog and u will know what I mean


Gheez I m so pet deprived over here in Penang :(

Vegetarian sandwich

When you hear vegetarian sandwich, I bet the first thought that goes thru your mind is...ewwww!!! I felt the same way too


But this vegetarian sandwich is surprisingly quite nice. It has shredded carrots,lettuce,the purplish cabbage,cucumber and tomato and cheese. It is so good, i have been having it for lunch twice this week :)

Indulgence

I brought a bar of dark chocolate to my office yesterday. Opened it up and quietly sneak a piece when I need some sugar boost


I keep it in my drawer and it's mine! All mine! Bwahaha. Somehow I just feel very pleased that I have my own little secret in my office drawer. Now if you won't tell my colleagues I think this bar will last me for a few weeks =)

Our not-very-chinese 15 Meh Dinner

When it comes to occasions like chap goh meh, it doesnt feel very festive when you are away from home. So just "yi su,yi su" and have a dinner that is a little more special that we normally have la :D Went to Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant. It was supposed to be some sort of a belated valentine's day dinner since this year's valentine's day coincided with day 1 of cny...rugi la this year!

But both of us really like daorae, this is my 4th time there since its opening in may/june last year. good food and good service...have not disappoint us thus far :)



really love this spicy soup...appetizing

and of course, with every korean restaurants...so many side dishes are being served. and the best thing? you can ask for a free refill anytime!



i really dont know what's so nice about kimchi. we never touch the kimchi. i know some people really really like kimchi up to a point where they even bought back some to savor at home =_="
it tastes like spicy, wilted cabbage to me...wahahaha

each table will have this special duct like thingy that is supposed to suck out any smoke from the bbq



this is one side dish we have not seen before...it doesnt taste like sotong. till now, we still dont know what it is..it better not be boiled lizard's tail

Frying chicken without frying

Do u know that you could have 'fried chciekn' by baking it? Ok it may not look so appetizing but it really tasted like fried chicken only very very much less oilier


I'm so proud of myself. Now I can enjoy fried chicken without feeling guilty And let's not Forget it's much easier than frying chicken in a wok and have an oily kitchen later

First, coat the chicken with deep frying flour then coat with bread crumbs. Place chicken on a baking pan, and drizzle a little cooking oil on the chicken. Bake for 30-40 mins and you have baked chicken that taste and looks like fried chicken! :)

Egg tarts galore

So many different types of egg tarts. Why do u need so many flavors? I still prefer the old fashioned egg tart from the olden days neighbourhood friendly 'roti chia'. Keke

The other day when we were queuing up to buy movie tix, I saw a bunch of hair conditioners on the ticketing counters.

When we bought our tix the staff just gave us a tube of hair conditioners as if it's a normal thing to be getting hair conditioners when u go watch a movie

My new love

I just bought my 2nd pair of crocs shoes with my angpow money. Lol! I think it's called the crocs band?


In baby pink!! I actually went in to the crocs shop to buy one of those more feminine crocs. U kno the Mary janes and what nots. When I caught sight of the crocs the staff were wearing.


And I ended up buying another big, very unfeminine crocs. Lol! But I think it's prettier thAn the old crocs rite? I have a love hate relationship with crocs. They are ugly as hell but they are so comfy! Dammit!
