Social Issues in Malaysia

heh...the title for this post sounds very INTELLECTUAL and SERIOUS hor??? :)

but actually what prompted me to write this post is because of a few incidents regarding QUEUEING in public places...i must say Malaysians are not very good in queueing...hehehe

ok these are the 2 cases which im going to tell you guys about:

1) Case A

This one did not happen to me..i was merely a spectator :P
ok i was queueing up at the celcom payment kiosk (where we can pay our telephone bills) one fine day during lunch hour and there was a looooong queue. This "uncle" was at the kiosk for around 5 mins + just paying his bill. The queue was like this :

Uncle,Guy A, Guy B (our hero), ME (the fluffy pinkish ball of cotton!)

so after a while uncle felt bad about hogging the kiosk for quite a while dy so he let Guy A pay his bill first.

Guy A only took a while and after guy A has finished...its supposed to be Guy B's turn rite??? But uncle went up to the kiosk again!

Guy B nudged uncle and said:HEY ITS MY TURN! YOU QUEUE UP!

Uncle: WHAT? I HAVENT FINISHED PAYING MY BILLS!
Guy B: eh just now your turn already over wat...now its my turn! everyone is in a hurry i don have a lot of time to spend here
Uncle:*getting furious*blablablabla

I was half afraid that they might end up in a fight so i better step aside lest i get a black eye..heehee...i was not sure who got their turn in the end but the security guard had to intervene. ok thats it for case A.

2)Case B:

This one happend to me lor...last nite :P
The story is like this.....yours truly went to KFC to have fried chicken!!! YUM YUM! 'x'
so naturally i queued up at one counter la...in front of me was another person making his order, but there was no one in front of me except for a little gal of around 12 yrs old who was standing at the side (NOT queuing mind you) looking at some stupid KFC Toys

Then horrrr...suddenly one big assed lady walked right in front of me!!!!! i was like O_O

as if i wasnt there!!!

%$#%&*%#

I was saying very loudly DONO HOW TO QUEUE UP AH????? (in Hokkien)

But she seemed as if she din hear anything...and its not as if she don understand me cos i later heard her speaking hokkien.BLAHDI HELL!

I was very very angry and we queued up at the other queue ... until my someone (hee) pointed out to me that the gal who stood NEAR the counter earlier on was actually her daughter and she (the gal) was supposedly queueing on behalf of her mother (who i presume when to the toilet to PANG SAI b4 eating 'x')

LIKE THAT ALSO CAN MEH????

She (the daughter) was practically NOT IN THE QUEUE! but then again, there were there first la...so i had no say and quietly continued on my queue at the next counter lor...

So ... what is your opinion? Right or wrong? what are your views on this issue? TALK TO ME ! :)))

p/s RAINBOW!!! ^_^ I actually took this rainbow pic BEFORE i stepped into KFC and was in a rather jovial mood for having spotted a nice rainbow b4 my good spirits were spoilt by the *TOOT* lady

I queued up here to comment. Been waiting all lunchtime liao. Luckily no big assed woman jumped te queue ahead of me, otherwise I sure spray her with some joss-stick incense smoke. I really hate queue jumping ~ the worst of the worst kiasu traits, next to rape!

I’m not Malaysian but visit there often and I think you bring up an excellent point. I have always found it strange that Malaysians, who are extremely friendly and welcoming in most situations, lose all politeness when lining up or driving a car. People have stolen taxis from me as I was right at the door, cut in line at the airport, cut me off in traffic, and nearly run me over just to get to somewhere first.

Cutting queues ine one thing....standing so bladdy near to people as if i am your wife also very rampant....

I actually told off a woman at the atm machine for standing too near to me while queuing...so near that I felt her must-be-very-cheap bra's pushing my back.....

remember the incident at LCCT terminal????

cut queue? normal la in kuching. Everywhere you see, mesti ada idiot who cut Q, from kopi tiam to traffic light.

When boarding plane in KIA/KLIA also got, like never board an aeroplane before.

The worse is at Jalan Song traffic light going to 3rd mile. But then again, why we get so uoptight about them as they are the one that are UNCIVILISED.

Zeng zeng zeng!! Very interesting case study here and sounds like my turf of expertise. Let me work this out:

CASE A:

Uncle at fault. Such self payment kiosks are meant for EXPRESS PAYMENT so if you are paying bills for your entire family, sorry hor, go to the counter. Don't hog the line. Whilst he acted nice letting Guy A pay first, then why can't he be nice to Guy B also, then to Pink Cotton also. If you want to be nice, be nice all the way not half way. Besides, Guy B could also think that he was done but want to do more payment... obviously you cannot just cut the Q just because you WERE in front earlier isn't it?

CASE B:

Obviously you agree that the little girl was there way beyond you isn't it? I supposed her mummy ask her to Q first because, well, she either go to pangsai or maybe find carpark, etc. So when the girl's turn was up and mummy not here yet, she could have let the guy behind her go first so she stood at the counter but not in line. Then mummy came along and obviously oblivious that someone is cursing her for cutting the Q which she 'technically' speaking did not.

it's not just in M'sia, it's here in Sydney too, at times. especially for buses at this big bus stop where everyone just stands around, but when the bus comes everyone rushes for the door! cheh... like M'sia, hahaha!

Queuing is definitely not in the dictionary for Malaysians especially drivers
But in your case, I just don't know what to say, if only people can take a step back, then there will be more peaceful scenes
Hmmm
