Sights and Sounds of Driving in Kuching

It really beats me...what is going on in the minds of most kuching drivers???

They drive weirdly and they sometimes drive me up the wall. Which gives me an extra reason to look forward to weekends ,cos i dont have to drive on weekends...wahahahah...

These are the common practices practised by Kuching drivers....let's see how many of these you people agree with :

NEVER give way to other drivers

This is a really weird behaviour.Imagine a two way road which suddenly becomes one way (blame it on Kuching road engineers who design roads in such a way). The car in the main road...would certainly try as hard as possible to accelerate when they come to the point where the two way bcome one way so as to prevent the car in the next lane to cut in..IT is weird!!!!..I mean...that is how the road is designed,somehow...the car in the next lane will have to cut in..its not that they are rudely cutting into your lane....WELL they somehow HAVE to do that ..cos its the way the road is designed!!!! do you get wat i m trying to say??sigh .. i have problems with descripting things.So why don you just have the courtesy of slowing down and letting that car move in just a bit??? tsk tsk tsk

Try to outrun the car in the next lane

Hmmm...i think there is REALLY something wrong with such drivers. You know when you are driving happily and singing along to your favourite song on the radio..and JENG JENG JENG...suddenly the car in the nxt lane goes into KIASU mode and tries to beat you to the next traffic light....HELLOOOO?!!?!? do i have the F1 sticker stuck onto my car??? am i trying to race with you??? DUHhh...

Motorcylists MUST ride right in the MIDDLE of the road

Hey, no offence to motorcyclists out there....but MOTORCYCLISTS who drive RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the road really really pi$$es me off! I may be a small gal driving a small car...but that doesnt mean that i cant knock you down you know?? sighhh...

You MUST stare at the driver next to you when you stop at traffic lights

I don understand the thing about staring at the driver next to you when you stop.It is becoming a habit with some drivers......traffic light turns red....stop the car...and look left and right....SIAO DE!

Well i guess that's about it lorr...my advice to drivers out there....WEAR A SUN SHADE while driving...cos it somehow prevents people from bullying you on the road..WAHAHAHAAH ...its true!!! :P

p/s however, there are some pleasant kuching drivers around too.drivers who slow down and let me go first really makes my day!~! I LURVE YOU ALL!!! 'x'

The Winds of Change...

Today is the last day of work for my mom b4 she starts her retirement life. Isnt it great??? Here i am...only 2 years into the workforce ... can you imagine another 30 over years of working????? arghhhhhhhhhh...

anyways...my dad retired last year ...and now my mom is retired too.. it is just so weird to have our places switched..

long time ago...when i was just a teeny weeny gal...i would be waiting at home the whole day....waiting for my parents to come home. and when they do come home..i would quickly rush to the gates to open it,so my dad's car could come in...etc etc...

but now ho....it is the opposite....

you see...my parents would spend their day at home ... while i would be at work...
when i come home, i would find both of them there...doing housework..or sth...
isnt it weird???

hahaha...times have changed.....and how time flies....*sighhh*

p/s but they din open the gate for me when i come back leiiii :(

The Cold Hard Truth

When i was little...i used to think that having a boyfriend is such an easy thing...you find yourself a guy that you like...and he likes you too..and BANG!! you 2 r desperately in love....everyday passes by like a bed of roses.......and he seems to run out of ideas on how to be romantic.

when you quarrel....there he is standing out side your house even tho it is raining cats and dogs..without an umbrella and he is soaking wet.OH your heart breaks when you sees this and you immediately run out and give him a hug.......................not long after that DENG DENG DENG...you 2 get married in a chapel full of smiling faces..and off you 2 go to an exotic place for a honeymoon...........

ok! thats enough of all the mushy pooshy stuff...

so is that really it?!?!!? is that how it happens in REAL LIFE???

HOGWASH i say!!... to the dumpsters with all the HK and Korean love stories! 'x'

Well...i'm not totally saying all the scenes in those series dont come true in real life...sometimes, they do you kno?? but that is not what love is REALLy all about,isnt it???

They have missed out a lot of things and as a result has caused severe damage to the brains of all those young girls who would be watching the shows...love where got like that wan??? 'x'

first of all....

falling in love isnt all that easy...it takes time, it takes a large amount of getting to know each other.you just don fall in love at first sight!...if you could fall in love in first sight...the world would be in total chaos...cos every1 would be falling in love with every1 ..wahaha

secondly....

you just don decide that OHKAY...u wanna spend your WHOLE LIFE with this person after few days of knowing him/her...NO!...how could that even happen??? Besides, how could a young OH DROP DEAD gorgeous young man have enough money to marry you in such a short time?? The world is a materialistic world u kno? u get married with no dinner,no nothing....mouths will start to talk....EEE THAT SO N SO'S DAUGHTER...MUST B SHOT GUN WAN LA..OR ELSE Y NO CHIA HO? tsk tsk tsk...thats how the whole horrid world works...

thirdly....

a relationship IS NOT a bed of roses..there will be ups and downs,pleasant and unpleasant. All part and parcel of a relationship if you ask me. You may hate it ...but i guess its just bound to come about...

i m not trying to break every girl's fantasy about a perfect relationship and a perfect bf/husband...to me, life isnt that simple...

hate it as we may....its just bound to stay that way... ;)

2. the so called sashi sushi i lurve..is not sashi sushi...it is CHIRASHI SUSHI

3. and erm.......PHEWWW luckily that's all...

i went there again last week for lunch...and i wouldnt be stepping in to watashiwa for another 6 mths i guess

This blog is beginning to be a weekly blog...wahahahh..cos i only blog during the weekends...

bo pien la ... i am in the middle of a little project of my own and for the past 2 weeks or so...every free second that i have, is spent on this little project..boo hoo hooo..i wish it would be completed by next week. im starting to feel miserable :(

till then....too da loo...

hEEEE....went to WATAWASHI to splurge and binge a little ... 'x'

actually WATAWASHI isnt a new establishment. in fact, before this there was a HANAMI at exactly the same place.in fact,the interior is still the same and even the staff working there...hehe.so i guess there was a change of management or something lo.or maybe a japanese feng shui master came and said O O HANAMI NO GOOD! MUST B WATAWASHI!

ok.back to the food...  :P

we ordered a BENTO SET which came with beef steak,some maki,a bowl of miso soup,honeydew and a dono wat pickle which tasted BAD ..cos it was TOO sour and TOO spicy...bleaghs...

all this............for RM45.not bad la.

then we 2 hiau lorr...and ordered a SASHI SUSHI. actually we had no idea what it was.from the picture, we thought it was some sort of sushi combination....and then TA DAHH!! it was with rice...and we even ordered an extra bowl of rice..WA WA...really ate till wanted to xplode.

luckily my sister came later ...and helped us a bit.but she ordered 8 makis ..and we all ended up STUFFED TO THE BRIM!

but i really like the sashi sushi tho...its actually rice topped with few pieces of raw salmon,tuna,egg,cucumber and some sesame seed.i love it! will go back there to try this SASHI again..hehe

Once again.....its my cat .... doing her nightly prowl again!

Well..its not my fault really that i always blog about my cat's icky habit of catching and eating animals... :P but its just that its always such a coincidence that she would catch something right in front of me when im outside and when im having my camera with me...this time..i think shes pretty successful.....SHE CAUGHT A RAT!!! bravo!!! thats the whole purpose of us bringing her into our house in the first place.

But unfortunately, she has always been out of the house ...night and day. And sometimes...she didnt even come back for dinner...and my mom was always complaining abt that USELESS cat...hehehe

She was very happy tho (my mom,i mean) when she heard that my cat has caught a rat.But i told her ... don't you realise that she only comes back here to catch rats for you when its raining??? cos she cant go out when its raining...kekeke...

we suspect she has a cat boyfriend out there whom she spends ALL her time with when its not raining...wahahahah

I was driving home from work on Friday evening and while i was stopping at a certain traffic light along jalan Song...hmmm i thought that the traffic light looked a bit weird....i studied it for a while and oh my goodness....

on Saturday morning...i went to 7th mile to ... well..MAKAN ANGIN lo...in hokkien its...CIAK HONG...mandarin..its CHEK FUNG..in english its...erm...EAT AIR??? lol...

I think it has been a loooooong time since i last set food in the town of KOTA SENTOSA (aka 7th mile). And i was surprised that i got a culture shock while i was there...wahahaha...

the arrangements,the look and the feel of all the shophouses there really really reminded me of SIBU TOWN bo!!!...it is very weird to feel as if i was in sibu when in actual fact, i was just few kms away from kuching...

and ...the TRAFFIC also reminds me very much of sibu town cos they were like erm....DRIVE CHIN CHAI LAI ...wahahahahhah ... my apologies to those who stay there...but that's just what i saw ...kekeke...

oh yea!..and i spotted RED SPONGE MOBILE at Kota Sentosa...it is a small world after all...wahahaha

wahahaha...its the weekends once again...ISNT IT GREAT??!? there's a whole 2 days of waking up late, in front of me...OH WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THIS??? :)

That is how much i love weekends!

Every saturday morning ... i would automatically wake up at 7.05 (thanks to my trusty biological clock) and start to panic that I WILL BE LATE FOR WORK. after 1/2 seconds...ohh! i will realise that ITS SATURDAY!!! wahh!! i really love that feeling.

once the realisation of it being saturday sank in...immediately i would go back to sleep GLADLY...

i think its a pity why i should repeat that kind of routine every saturday morning. My brain has already been 'trained' to JUMP OUT OF BED at 7.05am everyday n to quickly rush to the bathroom to wash my face so that there wouldnt be any possibility at all of me sinking back to dreamland again.

AHHHH THE AGONY!!!

Anyway, its Saturday!!! and lets make the best out of it!! Plan something...DO something...and most important of all ...HAVE FUN!!! :)

New Toy

I've bought myself a NEW TOY!!! YAYYY!!!

I think there's nothing as therapeutic as buying stuffs for yourself...hehe...

Well.. i recently bought a new set of speakers!!! and boy!! am i in love!!!

i really love this set of speakers ... its SUPERB...its CHEAP! its VALUE FOR MONEY!!!

and its small!... the speakers are only around 7cms in height and 5 cms in width but the sound it produces...I TELL YOU!.. its HOT!

the bass is there...everything and omg..its so cheap!ok..did i repeat that twice already?? :D

definitely a THUMBS UP.. no no ! WAIT! ..make it a TWO THUMBS UP! its that good...well of cos, you cant compare it with those high end speakers la i think...u kno, those rm200+++ and above ones...

but my gawd! its only RM50 OK??? a steal or wat??? :)

Chap Goh Mei Unlimited Lunch

We celebrated Chap Goh Mei at Mei San Restaurant last sunday...

This is the 2nd that i've had the unlimited lunch at mei san and im still giving it a thumbs up! :)

I thnk the normal price is around RM27/pax..however, due to the Chap Goh Mei celebration .... the price went up to RM30/pax and not forgetting the ++ .. hehe..

The unlimited lunch only serves chinese cuisine and all you have to do is to order from a list of dishes. The menu is categorised into few categories such as seafood,chicken,err..i gez theres vege..but i remember this category called DESSERT best of all! *giggle*

For an all you can eat buffet i think they r offering quite a variety of dishes to order...

You may order as many rounds as you like but ..... you may only order as many as 8 dishes at one time .. i think 'x'

well...i wasnt doing the ordering ..so im not too sure..hehe..i was just in charge of the eating..and not forgetting paying of my share :(

among the many many dishes that we've ordered..and by many, i mean..like A LOT ... i love the tau hu best of all!.. i think its nice! i think it was the ..ermm...BRAISED BEANCURD WITH MINCED MEAT.

hmm then ho...which other dish i like ho..........erm......................oh! the STIRFIED VENISON IN XO SAUCE is good! but i din taste any XO taste lerr...hmm oh well..

Anway, these are just my favourites... the others r quite good too!..

I strongly recommend Mei San's unlimited lunch if you have a good appetite and you could go for lunch as early as 11am ...cos the buffet starts at 11am and the last order you could make would be at 1.30pm.

hmmmmm if there is a time period for you to make your order...then why isit calld UNLIMITED lunch??? khik!

oh!...and theres a side table serving desserts like fruits and best of all.........ICE CREAM!!! YAY!

i believe these werent there the last time i went. and there were a few new dishes that i didnt see the last time i went too! :)

hmm to tell the truth ... im quite out of words to describe the buffet...i should have blogged about it as soon as possible ..arghh...!!!!

The Surprise on V Day

Valentine's day has come and gone ... doesnt time flies???

Well ... this morning, when i reached office...i could feel a different atmosphere....its as if everyone i meet was radiating with a sort of brightness and cheerfullness that i cannot describe...heeheee... it was rather amusing. But there was a certain someone who was feeling happier than ever...TEHEEHE...

sooo on Vday... i got a looverly surprise on my desk the moment i reached office...WHY! its a valentine from my valentine! ^_^ how sweet! and how pleasant! khik

Wowww...it seems that the owner of the tea house has surprised me with a pleasant serving of 'escargot aka snail' FREE OF CHARGE.isnt that so nice of him???? ...... NOT!

Atlantis dono-whatsisname pizza

Went to pizza hut last weekend and i finally managed to try the new ATLANTIS pizza!!!

I think this is the newest addition to the wide range of pizzas offered by pizza hut...not including the yucky valentine pizza! 'x'

Well....as any tom,dick and harry might have guessed...ATLANTIS PIZZA means...SEAFOOD pizza..YAY! unfortunately, the only seafood i can see on the pizza is prawn...mmm...i think it should have been called PRAWN PIZZA or SHRIMP PIZZA... or HEI PIZZA (hei : hokkien for prawns).anyhow, it IS called ATLANTIS pizza.

The service offered by the jalan song outlet is really quite good.

Before your butts have even warmed the seats...the waitress would have come up to you and she goes like this..

GOOD EVENING!!! I AM *mumble mumble*. I WILL BE *mumble mumble* 2nite.MAY I TAKE YOUR ORDER?

once we've orderd the atlantis set meal for 2 person...i immediately turned to my bf to say...WHAT DID SHE SAY???

and he was shrugging his shoulders too..! so much for good customer relations...

tick tock tick tock...time flew by...
and still no pizza

finally another friendly waitress came and said...

"HELLO.your pizza just masuk oven.it will take another 15 minutes.so if you would like to *mumble mumble* salad.i can *mumble* get bowl for you"

i wasnt really sure what she was saying ... but i assumed that shes offering free salad for making us wait for the pizza...

i said no no no ...its ok! we will wait (partly,bcos i wasnt really sure what she was talking about)

then my bf said... erm..! can we have soup instead???

she said sure!

good service rite??? :)

oh! not forgetting that we were entitled to play the same old spinning game. There are 2 wheels with different pizza toppinsg and if you get a certain combination of toppinsg in both wheels...you r entitled to a certain free gift.

We managed to get a free pepsi which is quite cool since i looove to drink :)

Finally!!! the pizza arrived.

and our first reaction was YEAGH....BRINJAL ON THE PIZZA?!?!?!?

but our disgust was quickly replaced by approval as we had our first bite. it really is quite nice...especially the rather big prawns...mmmmmm... nice!!

what i liked most was the crust!...it was topped with parmesan chese and stuffed with mozarella..MMmMmMMmmMmM....simply mouth watering! espcially the crunchy parmesan on the outside.

Overall...i think its a good try...tho it would have done better with prawns,fish and cutlefish as toppings. I wonder whats brinjals doing on an ATLANTIS pizza?? hmmm...

Guess what i found in my front door when i reached home just now...???

My cat was chasing after something which was fluttering around ... i couldnt see what it is exactly. so i quickly ran inside to turn on the lights and ARGHHHH...it was a little birdie!!! I tried to make my cat stop by throwing some slippers at her head... hee... but she acted as if i werent there and continued to break every little bones in the little birdie's body with a dreadful CRUNCH CRUNCH sound....errkkk :( sorry litle birdie..i hope u rest in peace in birdie heaven...

Then i realised that i should have captured the scene on my camera...and i again quickly rushed inside to get my camera...and when i got out...my kitty has already swalllowed the WHOLE of the birdie ...what was left wat just 2 little feathers... and here it is ...

Hello!...long time no see...

How was your Friday??? My friday was pretty good!

hehe...tats cos Red Sponge, 13th Panda and myself went on a shopping spree RIGHT after work today....

WAHAHAHAHA...theres no better way to end the working week than to go shopping with nice people ... khik! ;)

But leiii...this time, we r doing sth different...that is, for once...we were not shopping for OURSELVES but for someone else....heehee...

OK..so this is what we did...

1. Buy wrapping paper and valentine's day card

First of all, there is nothing more important in present-buying than WRAPPING PAPERS! yes! and it must b CUTE and oh so sweet! secondly lei, you need a card..yup!

2. Shop for pressies!!!

Red Sponge wanted to buy a xxxxx for her dear so first of all we went xxxxx shopping. Sorry. i had to erm cover up what exactly Red Sponge bought just in case her dear does visit my blog. We had a hard time choosing a right pattern cos this Red Sponge dont even know what kind of pattern to buy for her dear wo!!!...13thPanda and me suggested this n that this n that...and not one did she like...finally...she managed to find that she liked! WOOHOO ... but lei... there wasnt a size big enough 'x'!

So she was feeling very bad cos she had already haulien-haulien asked the shop assistant to open it up and then she didnt want it!!!! tsk tsk tsk...

She gave up after entering a number of shops and finally we decide its time for .....................FOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD

We had sth new today....its .....SOFT SHELL CRAB BURGER ... have you tried it b4??? As for me, i've never even HEARD of it ,what more to say TRIED it.

It was quite erm...........................okla....worth trying,but i wouldnt call it DELICIOUS.It was really cute to see all the little legs sticking out of the burger.... After recharging our energy...its time for our shopping again!!.. yay!

By this time, my feet was beginning to feel oh-so-NOT-great bcos of my mom's shoes that i was wearing....heee...so you see the SACRIFICES that we've made to buy great presents???

In our 2nd venue...ALAS!!! Red Sponge finally found a xxxxx that she's not very sure her bf will like...heeheeheee...

Next!!! Its time for 13thPanda's dear lorr...She bought erm...............something....... that ........... ummm...........we really had a time choosing. i had a red and itchy nose after tat...kekeke..but its ok! cos i am somewhat 'related' to her bf so its worth it! :D

Ok. so after crossing off Mr Red Sponge and Mr 13th Panda from our list...there's only Mr Pink Cotton to shop for...KHIK! ... well..............i wouldnt tell you what i bought.Cos the naughty Mr Pink Cotton DOES sometimes visit my blog ,even tho i have forbidden him to do so quite a number of times! I can only tell you this...mine took the SHORTEST time! I m a good shopper right???wahahah...or am i an IMPULSIVE buyer?? 'x'


We were all feeling really proud of ourselves as we walked to the car...we were holding our heads up high like Comrades who have just won a war...HO HO HO ... it aint easy to shop for guys i tell you! I am glad we took Red Sponge's advice to shop together and I am glad too that 13th Panda brought up the topic of valentine's day gift this morning... :)

There's nothing more effective in gift-shopping than to shop with a group of gals... i wouldnt say the same with guys... trust me, i kno how guys in a GROUP shop.

They will grab anything they laid their eyes on for the first 3 minutes that they r in the shop and TA DAHH! their shopping is complete...

BUT! i have to admit that gals get distracted easily....wahahaha...cos....Red Sponge and i just couldnt help ourselves from shopping for ourselves the whole time...hahaa! Lucky for us..theres 13th Panda who kept on making us keep on track...teehee...

I hope you guys out there had a nice time shopping for your dear loved ones! HURRY! there's still 4 days left!

THE 500 MARK!

I spy with my eyes and I saw.....

My name is Lizardo Reptilio and i live in the drain. Recently, there have been a continous stream of big LOUD sounds coming from the humans up above my drain that i just couldnt stand it anymore. Even tho i try to bury my head in the pile of mud in my drain, i still cannot manage to drain out the sounds...it is TERRIBLE!!!

Sooo...i finally climbed out from my drain just to see what those humans are up to. Upon my first step out of my drain, there was this stupid furry creature that kept on chasing me until i was tired. I ran and ran with my four legs and finally reached a quiet sanctuary with a roof that shielded me from the hot sun.

I was lying there...enjoying the hot sun when there was this human who kept on taking pics of me....OHHH!! when will i be able to have a GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP???

Cosmic explosion

Hi!!! These are some photos of the cosmic explosions which i have managed to capture with my intergalactic camera during my recent trip to outer space...
















teeheehee....really looks like some kinda cosmic explosions from NASA, dont they???

The good thing about living in malaysia is that...you could still see people letting off firecrackers and fireworks like CRAZY even tho these are illegal in malaysia. isnt it amazing???

at the strike of midnite on cny eve, everywhere you look...right,left,up,down,sideways...you could see colorful fireworks lighting up the sky...and it went NON STOP for at least half an hour.

i was recording all those fireworks on video...and the video were approximately 30 minutes long...tsk tsk tsk...

one lesson i've learnt tho.......NEVER spend your money on fireworks...cos there will always be OTHER ppl who will spend THEIR money on fireworks and who will burn them for YOU to enjoy!!!...so kind of them ,really... :)
