Night life in Pattaya (Part 4)

If some of ye o faithful readers of mine have noticed, the previous post was Part 2 but here i am jumping to Part 4 oredi!

Wanna know why???

Cos i just cant wait to talk about night life in pattaya.... :D

So i think it is only appropriate that i skip the rest of the tiger zoo and not keep you guys out there in suspense and anticipation!

Now ... what is there to see in pattaya....................... at nite???

I would say this is a MUST SEE for any first time visitor to Pattaya...




Ta daaaaa....the ALCAZAR SHOW!

More simply or more 'phai-thialy' called the AH GUA SHOW lo....hehehehe

Tickets are RM60 per person and i tell you! My rm60 was never more well spent on any other show than the Alcazar!

No regrets!

Someone was hesitating and neede quite a lot of persuasion before he agreed to go to the show with me ... and i bet he didnt regret it either!

Cos he was quite quiet for most parts of the show....WAHAHAHAHA.. its THAT goood, i tell you!

Reaaaaallly good effects, talented and errr....beautiful performers, really nice and attractive backdrops...! Just plain good la i tell you!

Ok...lets look at some pics...i kno some of you guys out there are just plain curious to know how those performers look like even tho you say HAIYA SO GELI LA (geli = gross) THOSE AH GUAS....

My hands were shaking too as i took the photos, while thinking deep in my heart "ITS NOT FAIR HOW COME A GUY CAN LOOK SO PRETTY!!"

But among all the fair and beautiful performers on stage that nite...there was a particular one that reaallly really caught my eye .... heheheeheheh

So i was wondering...guys out there....if someone like err....HER fell in love with you...would you be willing to overlook her past and well, have a relationship with errm... HER?

I mean, she IS girl physically after all..and maybe emotionally? No harm rite? 'x'

So anyway, after the show...everyone could actually take some photos with the performers of your choice for a very cheap price of 40 baht (equivalent to RM4).

So as expected, yours truly was waiting in front of the said performer ( like a puppy waiting for milk from its owner) for her to beckon me forward to have my photo taken with er....wahahahah

After that show ...... we were straight away brought to another place for another show .... which is of a rather different kind

YA YA so i DID went to THAI GIRLS SHOW.... THAI GIRLS mind you, not TIGERS 'x'

I've heard that some old tourists were confused with the name of the show...

heee....

nothing much to say or show regarding this show...cos no camera is allowed within the premises. Not even your handphone...tsk tsk tsk....need so strict for what. they even check your bags to make sure you don smuggle any device into the theatre.

So whats it about???

About thai GIRLS lo....need i say more?

oh..sorry...NAKED thai girls i mean 'x'

Being of a female species myself, the show doesnt really interest me la...i think its a pity why they have to misuse their 'ASSETS' for abnormal uses just to attract tourists and earn money for a living. It is rather pitiful.

Hmmm...i don want to say more la...just in case some of you might be planning to go for the show in the near future. don wanto spoil the surprise ma rite? *Wink*

But one word of advice tho, this show is not the faint hearted and pls pls pls do not EVEN attempt to leave DURING the show.cos it might result in some unwanted happenings.

U might end up getting a black eye from the usher....wahahhhahaah...

So weird la this show...so many restrictions....

My RM60 could have been beter spent elsewhere....like erm...on that shirt i had my eyes on in MBK SHOPPING COMPLEX...hee...

Off to Pattaya (Bangkok Trip Part 2)

After the not very good sleep on the first nite, theres the morning call at 6am!!

BOOHOOHOOOOOO...

How could i wake up so early on a HOLIDAY??? This is pure torture :(

Anyway, managed to FORCE myself to climb out of bed and pack my stuffs...

Mind you!! We had to pack our by 6.30am cos we were going to Pattaya that day. How i managed to wake up and pack my stuffs at 6am in the morning...i didnt know...

So our first stop for the day...

Our river cruise down the Menam River. Im actually quite confused as to the exact name of this river. In the map of Bangkok, they labelled it Chao Phraya ... but our tour guide said that its called Menam River...so anyway,theres this river 'x'

The river is surprisingly clean considering that there are houses and buildings at the riverbanks as compared to our Sarawak River...wahahaha..Our sarawak river is full of rubbish and best of all.... it is brown....wahahahha..

The Menam River on the other hand is clean and clear and theres hardly any rubbish. Which is a good thing cos what our tour guide told us on the river cruise nearly made me go back to Kuching on the next flight.

He asked us whether or not we've found that our bottled water taste a little different. The bottled water supplied by our hotel DID taste a little different. It had a kind of salty taste which rather frightened us all cos we tot someone had put some poison into our bottled water.

And the tour guide continued on to say that, all the water supplied to the people of Bangkok comes from that very river!! O_O

Which makes me wonder...where does the salty taste come from!?!?!?! Urine?????? or something worst??? 'x'

Thats one thing i couldnt really stand about Bangkok...the water!! The salty water is everywhere ... from the tap , from the bottled water that you buy from the supermarket, in your coffee, etc ... SOB

The whole time i was in Bangkok, i felt that my thirst could not be quenched even tho i swallowed a whole bottle of water cos of the salty taste. I felt sooooooo relieved when i tasted our NICE AND CLEAN Malaysian water once we reached KL. Plain water never tasted so good before! :)

So anyway, there are houses left and right of us as we cruised down Menam River...Its like an Asian Venice minus the Gondola...hehehe

According to our tour guide, the Menam River was the original place of the famous thai floating market. But due to dono wat reasons (as i have mentioned b4,the tour guide could only speak mandarin which im not very good at 'x') the floating market has moved to another place which is rather far away and which the tour guide didnt want to bring us to.. &^%@$ tour guide!!!

At least theres 1.2.3 sampan still doing their business there lo...

Bread and banana....

I bought some keychain just to get some small change ...

Did you see the bread on the boat??? Well,the bread is not for us to eat u kno?

Its for theese....

Gigantic hugeee PATIN fish!!!!

My god ... they r reallllyyyy HUGE i tell you!! I kid you not!!!

We were asked to buy those big big pieces of bread for 20 baht so that we could feed them. And it is really satisfying to feed them. They would jump up of the water and gobble up the big pieces of bread b4 you could say PATIN HU AH!!!

Hee...i really love feeding those big fishes...not to mention that Patin fish is my most favouritest of all!! I really felt like dipping my hand into the water and catch one of the fish and BBQ it ...muahahahhahhh

But then...these are holy fish...

According to a friend of mine..these fishies has a legend. They said that once an ang mo (caucasian) did not believe in these fish and he jumped into the river to catch them and he was sort of swallowed up by the fish 'x'

Scary thought..and to think i lurve to eat Patin Fish so much *gulp*

Next stop...Wat Arun...our one and only historical site on our tour schedule

I have sort of looked forward to visiting this wat arun cos i wanted to climb up the many stairs and to have a bird's eye view of the menam river...but then, it was under renovation -_-""

Stupid tour guide should have told us and brought us elsewhere ma.... ^%$@$&^

Stupid tour guide put aside, the Wat Arun is a majestic piece of architecture... it is sooooooooooo beautiful laaa!!!

There were a lot of stalls near and around the grounds of Wat Arun selling handicrafts and some Thai souvenirs. Some of these stuffs are quite cheap but i was suckered by one of the stalls selling aromatic wooden fans here!

I bought 2 aromatic wooden fan for RM35 and thought it was a bargain...but then i found the very same fan for sale for only RM6 each!!!! ARghhhhhh...

After the river cruise, we were on our way to Pattaya~~~~

On the way there, we stopped by at our next destination...

hehehe thats our admission sticker which is stuck on someone's shirt ;p

Had our first Thai lunch at a restaurant in the Tiger Zoo...TA DAAAA..

Our tour guide brought us here specifically to taste a certain special dish which can only be found in this restaurant

Jeng jeng jeng...

Cant guess what is this???

teeeheeheehehhe...its CROCODILE MEAT!!!! Woohoo!!!

Despite the thick leather like skin of crocodile, its meat is quite tender ... it almost tastes like pork. Actually this dish is quite tasty la, but i dare not take more of the meat cos the thought of it being crocodile meat just doesnt seem very appealing ... Can you see the crocodile skin??? Wahahahah it looks exactly like a crocodile skin bag 'x'

So what did we see in the tiger zoo..???

Naturally we saw tigers lorr...

Hey!! Wait a minute! Isnt that a sow (female pig) and piglets??? And there's tiger cubs too!!!

hehehe...there is nothing wrong with your eyes...no need to go to the optometrist...

it IS piglets and tiger cubs in the same cage.

In fact, those tiger cubs feed on the sow's milk!!! Isnt that amazing???

But that is not all we saw here ... check this out~

Piglets dressed in tiger clothes~!!!!!!! hahahahahaahahahh they r absolutely ADORABLE!!!!

so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuteee...i feel like running into the glass enclosure and stealing the little piglet tigers :))))))

Bangkok Trip (Day 1)

Before i start all the description on my Bangkok trip, let me just say a little about HOW i manage to get tickets to bangkok???

Well, it was like this...in december 2005...Air Asia was kind enough to offer 2 million FREE tickets to all the destinations for the whole of 2006...





When someone came out with the idea of going to Thailand... to tell you the truth, i wasnt really keen on it cos my impression of Thailand has always been of a place where bad people lurk around the city...wahahahaha..

You cant blame me what with all those Singapore movie series always potraying bad people coming from Thailand :P

However, the whole thing changed when someone told me that Bangkok is a really good place for shopping...bad people put aside...im going to Bangkok!!

Red Sponge who was so eager to go to Bangkok too after hearing of the free tickets...almost immediately went online to book for tickets.

Can you ever imagine tickets from Kuching-KL-Bangkok-KL-Kuching could only cost less than rm300??????

We were all drooling when we heard how cheap it was!!

But then, there was a little sacrifice we had to make for those free tickets...

The transit period in KL is from 11am till 6pm O_o



Lurverly nasi lemak on Air Asia! It is nice! :)

Its quite impossible to spend so many hours in the new Low Cost Carrier Terminal ... so cia lat la 'x'

So we had to take the SkyBus from LCCT to KL Central... and then from there we went shopping at Sungei Wang lor...

Lucky thing, our luggage are taken care of by a luggage service in KL Central for only RM5...or else,i think our arms would be separated from its socket by the time we reach Bangkok...

After a tiring walk around and around Sungei Wang... it is time at last to board our plane to Bangkok.

By the time we reached LCCT, i felt that our holiday has already ended...cos we were exhausted already!! Even before we reach Bangkok..my goodness...certainly not a good beginning to a HOLIDAY...wahahahha



So after a 2 hour plus flight ... we are FINALLY at Bangkok International Airport!!! Woohooo...Red Sponge and I , we were both really HIGH by the time we reach there that we couldnt stop giggling when we heard the announcers speaking in Thai...teeheehheh...

And oh btw...Bangkok International Airport is really HUGE...so many gates,so many planes... woooooo...so many people too!

There were over 20++ immigration clearance counters in the airport which each counter having at least 20++ people in queue.

Ok .. so i m quite sakai...so anyway...

When we reached the airport...our tour guide was already waiting for us and surprise surprise..he speaks MANDARIN...and perfect mandarin too!! 'x'

Where should i dig my face and hide??? My mandarin is so so la...i can hear and speak and i m totally blind when it comes to reading chinese characters.But here is a Thai who speaks excellent mandarin...so good, i have difficulty to understand...shid!

So anyway,first stop......................Dinner~~~~

Where???? Here..............

Had our first tom yam!!!....MMMmMMmMmM....quite ok la...not terrribly nice...wahahah. Will post a pic of the authentic tom yam soup later on ...all the tom yam looks quite similar, no point to post all of them rite??heh...

After that, we were brought to our hotel which is situated near Bangkok Chinatown, the Grande Ville Hotel. So sorry,no pics...i was really too tired when i reached the hotel that i just couldnt wait to try out the bed...

But , my fellow travellers are not tired yet!!! They stil wanto go out and walk...wahahahah...

Not wanting to miss out on Bangkok ....i tagged along lor...

We went to...

There were some sort of a night market there...and we walked and walked and walked..and there were people left,right,up,down,behind....they were EVERYWHERE...

It was so crammed that sweat came down like bullets...yearghh.....i just couldnt bring myself to snap some shots cos it was just too crowded...

Once or twice i almost got knocked down by a lady pushing a trolley full of HOT oil~~!

So i really had to keep my eye wide open in order to avoid any mishap...hahaahah

At the end, i m not sure whether they were too tired to walk back to our hotel or they wanto try out the tuk tuk...or maybe both! But its a good thing!
Tuk tuk is certainly a convenient and affordable and not forgetting to mention FAST mean of travelling in Bangkok!




You dont even need aircon when you r in the tuk tuk, the wind blowing on ur face is enough! hahaha...needless to say, it is rather scary for us sakai kia to sit on a 'open-air' 'car'. Someone *ahem* was shrieking almost the whole way from Chinatown to our hotel...wahahahah

I got it on video...but thanks to stupid ol me...i accidentally delete it -_-"

Back to our lovely hotel room....time for a very very very very much needed zzzzzzzzzzzssss

But!!! Our eventful day did not end there!!

I was awaken by the sound of some people talking,giggling REALLY LOUD...i tot it was from the tv but the tv wasnt on !!! O_O

I was too tired that i couldnt even bother to check out the source of the noises and went back to sleep...

I only found out on the next day that it was no spook...just the next door neighbours having some errrrrrrrrrrrr FUN...

Hello helloo!! I would appreciate it if they could do their 'business' quietly for g'ness sake!!

There's no place as good as home...thats for sure... hehehe...

I was really tired and bushed when i reached kuching yesterday night...yesterday was a REALLY long day...it started from 4am till 12.30am...tsk tsk tsk

Almost drop dead of fatigue :p

But here i am again!!!... As promised, i would do a travelogue on my bangkok trip lo...

And since this is gonna be my very first travelogue, i will TRY my best to write a comprehensive one instead of the usual CHIN CHAI LAI post i always write...teeheeheheh...

Vacation Schmacation

Darn it!!!

Just when i was really really excited about my bangkok trip 2moro... i have to run a little temperature today!!!

Pls pray for me ok??? So that i would be ok after the panadol later on and i would be in tip-top condition to take photos for my very first TRAVEL LOG 2moro!!!

Just finished packing.............i think........

My room is in such a mess after pulling out every wardrobe in my room...heehee...talking about last minute packing...

My favourite jeans is still damp !!! Oh gaWD!!! Now i cant bring 'her' along on my trip...

I think i (might) have learned my lesson on last minute packing....heeheheh... I didnt know it would rain this morning maaaa...and i just popped it into the washing machine this morning...teeheehehehe...

Long Weekend!

Omg!!!.. Its another LOOONG WEEKEND!!!

I think the government is really spoiling us ... whats with the so many holidays in one month???

And on the first of June, theres another looooonng weekend...

Why dont they scatter the holidays abit ...

You kno?? Like in months such as september/october/july... there is hardly any holiday in those months and our faces start to turn into zombies and we SQUEAL at the sight of weekends...

Those months should have at least ONE day of holiday!

Hmmm anyway, it is not only gonna be a LONG WEEKEND for me this week...

ITS GONNA BE A 7 DAYS HOLIDAY!!!

Labour's Day Feast

This is long overdue post...but its better late than never isnt it?? ;)

Well, on the eve of labour's day ..me n my 2 sis decided to cook up something italian for dinner.

My second sis decided to cook her trademark dish..LASAGNA and my eldest sis said she'd cook spaghetti...then me feeling paiseh offered to make some pizzas lo...hahahhaha..

That is the easiest thing to cook!!!! Plus its fun to make!! :) I almost drooled out of excitement and concentration while putting on the toppings for the pizza...wahahha..OKLA! i didnt drool la ok? :p

So i bought some salami and some parmesan cheese and the ready made pizza crust(its so ez peasy i tell u!)...hmm couldnt find mozarella that day ...so the second best option will do lah!..And then i stole some canned button mushroom from my mom's cupboard (shhhhhhhhhhhh...) and TADAHH! its a pizza! :P Of cos you have to bake it la

Motivation

You know?? i have been wondering...

Why isit so hard for me to wake up at 7am on a work day when i could have easily jumped out of bed at 6am in the morning if i were going to do something fun for e.g. a picnic???

Heheheeh...

I then realised that human need motivation!! Even for things as simple as dragging your tousled head out off the bed...

I guess thats why i always think of something to look forward to every morning the alarm goes off...it could be things as simple as a date in the nite ;) or erm...perhaps where to lunch at noon and if i have totally nothing to look forward to, i would then get myself up by comforting myself that weekends is near....wahahah...

I just cannot live without motivation and i move on in life by looking for simple simple things to look forward to... it has worked wonders for me ;)

It is hard to say goodbye...

Tonight i bade goodbye to a very close 'friend'.

We've been thru thick and thin for God knows how many years already and i used to think that we would be together till the end of days...how foolish i was to put fate aside.

For fate it was that brought us apart...forever....

I was pretty sad just now ... but i just couldnt do anything.

We were not meant for each other anymore...

I felt so sad when we separated just now... my heart almost broke...

But the dentist said it has to go...for the sake of my lower wisdom tooth...

WAHAHAHAHAHAH~~

Hahahaah ... i dont know if any of you still remember my ordeal with the swollen gum a few weeks ago???

well, the swelling came back early this week...and arghh i think it was worst than before!!

I really couldnt stand it anymore this time...so i called up my favourite dentist on wednesday morning and was again informed that he was fully booked ...till NEXT WEEK!!!

I must admit i was really quite desperate by then and i started to look for other dentists lorr...

After much persuading by myself...my guts said OKLO!WE LOOK FOR OTHER DENTIST LO *shudders*

So i went to the other dentist just now ...

And the moment i opened my mouth AHHHHHHHH...

he said MY GOODNESSSSS~~~~

I was like HA~~~ with my mouth still open wide...

And he said with a grim face as if i had maggots in my mouth or sth... "DO YOU KNOW YOUR GUM HAS GOT PUS???" hee ...he said in mandarin la...CHUK LUNG is PUS rite?haa

I was really quite frightened by his words...

And he said...i will extract your upper wisdom tooth..

I was like OK OK OK ..

And he repeated again...I M GOING TO EXTRACT YOUR UPPER TOOTH BOOO! NOT YOUR LOWER TOOTH(the one with pus)

I asked WHY?!?!?!??????????????????? (note:extra question marks for added drama 'x')

Him : HAH! EVERYONE ASKS ME THE SAME QUESTION ( in my heart,you si kui hau lian kia) BUT, YOUR UPPER TOOTH HAS BEEN BITING ON YOUR LOWER GUM AND THE CONTINOUS PROCESS MAKES YOUR GUM SWELL LO.

Me : nod nod nod nod (hand start to tremble liao)

The thing is .. I'V NEVER EXTRACTED ANY TOOTH BEFORE!!!

BOOHOOHOOO... I FEEL SO SAD FOR HAVING DESERTED MY GOOD TOOTH!!

I m still feeling guilty now.... :(

Long weekends

haaa...its another long weekend again! :)

I think we've been rather spoilt these few weeks...this is the THIRD long weekend we've had this month.

wahahahaha so happy!!

Few weeks ago, it was the Good Friday holiday...leaving us with a 4-day weekend cos we started our weekends a day earlier.

This week, its also a 4-day weekend..cos Monday is a holiday.

So i was wondering...which LONG WEEKEND is better?

Holiday on a Friday so we start our weekends one day earlier???

OR

Holiday on a Monday so we end our weekends one day later???

HMMMMM...

I was driving back to office after lunch yesterday while listening to my favourite radio station , MIXFM. And i heard the DJ said the next song entitled CRAZY CHICK sung by CHARLOTTE CHURCH.

And i was like HUH??? CHARLOTTE CHURCH?? Singing a POP song entitled CRAZY chick??hmm.. it just doesnt compute...

You know?? THIS charlotte church???...

Weekends???Where??

harlowww...its a sunday again and i think i've missed out on saturday this week..boohoohoo...

i was in the office for the whole day yesterday...*sigh* so there goes saturday :(

my favouritest day of the week.and i've missed out on a whole day of shopping...wahahaha.well, that could be good in a way since i dont have to spend any money rite? :P

So i went to office yesterday morning without any supply of water cos i assumed that the office always have a HUGE supply of drinking water ma! but to my horror.....i found out that all the water bottles have been emptied COMPLETELY!

I am a water person .. in fact, ppl call me WATER TANK (*ahem* not OIL TANK ok?? it has totally differnet meanings..wahahah) cos i just cannot live without water.

I must always have 2 bottles of water at my side when im in front of the computer...heee! i think the company is lucky not to have 2 staff like me :D

Ok....so i thought well, maybe i could finish my job earlier and i can leave earlier and have my drink somewhere else lor.

But things dragged on for quite a bit and arghhhh i was THIRSTY!

I really had no choice but to refill my water bottle in the toilet..sob sob.I mean from the toilet water tap of cos!!

And there was this really heavy smell of chlorine!!! YEARGHHH...

Talking about employee motivation..tsk tsk tsk.Boss must b saying....THOSE WHO COME BACK TO O.T. ON WEEKENDS AH...NO NEED TO GIVE THEM ANY WATER.COS WHO ASK THEM NOT TO FINISH THEIR WORK EARLIER?? 'x'

wahahahah..

But that is exactly what i wanted to talk about...EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION.

Saturdays and sundays have always been 2 very precious days for me since as long as i could remember. My perception is that, the weekends should be spent on play and not work.ha!Which is why i've always grumbled and moaned when i had to go back for classes on saturday last time and which is why i grumble and moan when i have to go back to work now! :D

But then, i was always quite surprised to see so many of my colleagues back to work on saturday.

And i dont mean droppping by for a few minutes to be a nuisance to those who need to OT and run off again kind of 'back to work'. I mean staying there for the whole day as if its a working day kind.

Before i started working, i was not really er....'exposed' to this thing called O.T. hahaahha i guess its cos my elder brother and sisters never had to OT le.I never see them packing their bags and waking up early to go to work on saturdays!

Which is why i was surprised to see my colleagues always so willing to go back to work.

Then it struck me that...employee motivation could b a part of this.

When a boss gives good remuneration,good working environment,good facilities,etc etc...staff would be willing to do more than just 5 working day...hehehe. I think that is very true.

In fact SIMS2 OPEN FOR BUSINESS actually simulates that! You have to maintain and motivate your staff by increasing their wages, promoting them,give them a break,etc :P

Wahhahaha...ok ... so DEAR MR BOSS, if you are reading this...i hope you would know that i am your dedicated employee 'x'

and most probably wont be able to enjoy my saturday...WUAHHHHHH ~>.<~ Need to OT.. i think that is the 2 most dreadful letter in the whole world... So i was complaining and feeling down for having to go back to work 2moro when he said ....Why are you complaining so much??? I have to go to work every saturday and you don see me complaining... hehehe...that is true la actually... but we humans are like that..once we've been given something good , it would be very hard for us to live without that something anymore :P haaaa..so i might just as well put a smile on my face and go to work 2moro (in my tshirt) and make full use of the time.at least, i wont have SOMEONE bothering me at work for once.. *AHEM*
