Sibu Food Tour (Day1)

Yay...another travel post from me!!!...

was in Sibu for a food tour with a bunch of friends during the merdeka holidays...yeah! you heard me right...went to SIBU for a HOLIDAY!...

doesnt seem too right rite??? people looked at me with big round eyes when i say im going to sibu just to EAT...hmmm but then again, i think its no harm considering the tickets are cheap,we have an authentic sibu lang to bring us around...and best of all....hehehehe good and reliable transportation around sibu town ...hehehehee....

We flew off on trusty Air Asia on merdeka day itself...and the food tour started off with starbucks chicken pie in Kuching Airport...

yum yum...nice chicken pie (RM7.50) with cheese on top (extra rm2) ... heavenly....

full tummy and high spirits...we are ready to fly!!!!
Reached sibu...got our trusty old car (the car was old as me 'x') ...and its time to eattttttttttttttt...
first stop...

the famous Sibu Shabu2 restaurant...my very first time there after hearing so many people talk about it...

i was quite skeptical lor at first...you can order sets of raw meat/vege and you cook it with a personal cooker like this one...

press press button...

they serve you with the chicken soup...and you dump in...

Chicken meat??? or...

lamb,beef,fish,cuttlefish...?? or...

LOVELY DUMPLINGS!!!!!
These were really good!!! we ordered 2 servings...hehehe...only RM3 for 6 pieces...things cant get any cheaper!
Dump it all in and voila...

Hot steaming soup! at first my soup was quite tasteless and i was complaining how come its not salty enough..but towards the end..................WAHLAU EHHH...the soup is sooooooooo sweet and full of flavor from all the meat and vege...slurp
I was just reminiscing the sweet sweet taste of the soup just now before lunch =x
and things just got better with the special unknown dono-what-it-is sauce...

Its not really spicy and its not salty....hmmm dono what it is...but it sure goes well with all the meat and vege...
Look at the color...could it beeeeeeeeeeeee..........................NONO stop imagining!

we had shabu2 at around 2pm....after 2 hours rest....we are up to the next agenda in our food tour.....

HAPPY FAMILY SNOW ICE!!!

Jiggly pudding...not bad lah...really jiggly...

The snow ice which ive heard so much about....

Chocolate snow ice....

Coffee snow ice...

These reallly come in big typical sibu portions ok??? no kidding!...RM3 for a bowl as big as ur average kolo mee 'x'

Igloo go fly kite lah!!!! hehehe...

Finished snow ice at around 5pm...have to quickly digest all the snow ice and shabu2 for the main highlight of the dinner...

I present to you....

Mr KRABSSSSS...

Another famous dish from sibu...the bus station crabs...hehehe...dont know the name of the restaurant la...but i tell you....the place was packed full of people from one end to the other at only 7PM!!!! JAM PACKED!!!! i cant even take a photo to show u guys how packed it was cos the row of tables were toooooooooooo long!
all hopes were dashed when we saw this...cos it seemed almost impossible to find an empty table when sudddenly!!!!! *DRING* heavenly light shone from above and there it was!!! and empty table!...hehehe seems tat we are good girls and boys after all 'x'

and the most surprising thing is...despite the crowds...they managed to serve us our crabs in less than 15mins!!!! IMAGINE THAT!!! Really admire them...a pat on the back to the sibu langs!

and that completes day 1....stay tuned for day 2! :P

disclaimer: photos not taken with my D40 baby ... well just in case...............hahaha
