Ok...i've been cooking dinners for the past 2 weeks or so and almost sliced off my finger by doing so LOL

let's see what i've been cooking...nothing complicated lar...just some thing to fill our tummies
ok this is today's dinner, spinach with abalone mushroom and belacan

and golden fried rice with sausage,minced meat and mixed veggies

not so golden hoh?golden bcos i mixed the rice with egg first b4 frying lo

and this was dono when's dinner...nasi briyani cooked straight from the rice cooker

using packet punya lah :P

ahh itu siew nyuk...imported from kuching...lol...heated with the rice cooker nya

brinjal in sweet soya sauce

cold tauhu with minced meat and chinese mushroom gravy on top

not bad rite??? 'x'

i have to figure out what to cook everyday...give me some ideas...quick...
i want something that can be done in 20 mins! :P

Capsule Toys!

I just go crazy over capsule toys machines...somehow the idea of not necessarily getting what you want when you put money into the machine really appeals to me....wahaha...

okie dokie...get 2 tokens for rm8 (expensive hoh?)

and ta dahhhh

just in case you r wondering what it is...its a mario sound maker! this will make the coin getting sound in mario game...

i want them all!!! wahahahaa

someone got crazy along with me...and we bought another 2 of those thingy 'x'

cute or not??? we managed to spend rm21 in less than 15mins on these 'x'

An Unfortunate Incident

As some of you might have known...i have been cooking dinner for the past 2 weeks...
quite fun and yet frustrating at times to cook....fun bcos i can experiment n cook only stuff i can eat...wahaha...frustrating bcos, i hv to think of what to cook everyday =_="

But last thursday, i was cutting up meat to marinade in the fridge for next day's dinner...i was washing the chopper and somehow i managed to slice my finger!!! ARGHHHHOWEEUEUEUEEUEEUEUOOOOOOOO

i can just feel the sharp sharp blade slicing my finger but my reflex is not fast enough to pull the blade away! silly right? but i think i can be such a klutz being a left handed handling all the sharp stuff and cooking...

alot of blood ooooooo...this one already wipe a FEW times but after i took this pic it continued to bleed :( to a point where i wondered whether anyone ever succumbed from a sliced finger 'x'

someone had to rush out to the nearest 7-11 to buy plaster for me....hehe...yes i managed to bring one whole carton of pill chi kit tek aun but forgot to buy plaster...for that, i m grateful to him!

heh...who wants chicken marinaded with my blood for dinner???

Dinner @ Breek's Gurney

ahem ahem...i do not blog from office lar...baru work 1 week, i dont dare to do that.........yet! 'x'
just in case you are wondering how come i have posts at 9am...its bcos i use scheduled post lar...too lazy to blog everyday....hehe

ok anyway....went to breek's at gurney place last Friday

I had chicken patte melted (RM14.90) which is chicken pattie with melted cheese on top and some green veggies and very special mashed potatoes

special bcos...it has a very distinct taste of garlic. as for the 2 long antenna thingy pointing out from my chicken...i dont know what it was....i ate the 2 of them thingy even tho i didnt know what it was..tasted like cheese to me *shrugs*

Hotplate cajun chicken chop (RM14.90)

chicken chop with bbq sauce on it...just so-so

it was around 9pm when we had dinner cos we lost our way trying to find poslaju in lebuh victoria! i have banned poslaju...but the sad thing is no more online shopping for me?!?! i must find an alternative somehow...

and to reward ourselves...we had banana bread and butter pudding (RM7)

very nice!!! i give it 8.5/10! =)

warm and creamy with real banana and a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

banyak nice! i would go back to breek's for this but not for the main courses...hehe

My House

Due to popular demand, since so many people is asking me to show my new room here in Penang...i have decided to post the pictures of my room here...

As i have told some of you, i wont show the pics until i have bought all the furniture and everything is ready mah....patience really pays off one i tel u...

Cheese Kong Pia

I'm sure most of you would have heard of kong pia filled with meat by now...but have you tried cheese kong pia?

i read in someone's blog that song kheng hai no 7 stall has this cheese kong pia so i was really curious...

its actually just puttnig cheese slices into the hot kong pia so the cheese melts inside...

not bad but i still prefer the no 7's meat kong pia...nicest i had so far :P

and a trip to song kheng hai is never complete without the fried kolo mee from ah kok stall

Managed to squeeze in a trip to Singapore to visit my little nephew on my last weekend before moving to Penang :P

Stayed in the Changi Village Hotel

i just find it very amusing to see a glass window built into the wall separatign the bathroom and the bedroom...yeah...use ur imagination! :P

lucky for us there's a blind whch you can lower down to cover the window lah...but still...

and yeah thats me!!!

it was also a food trip of sorts...and bro bear brought us to the Wee Nam Kee hainanese chicken rice shop. The chicken rice was good! hands down one of the best chicken rice ive ever had so far! slurpy soft meat!

and at nite there was the ah yim fried hokkien prawn noodle

big prawns n topped with crunchy deep fried pork skin! mouth watering just thinking of it now :D

Little Cottage @ Tabuan Laru

Yet another outdated post from me =)

Few weeks ago (i forgot how many weeks ago) when i was still working in Kuching...my now ex col and i went to a quaint little place serving nyonya food called Little Cottage

They are operating right from the compound of their house

The menu is quite limited but it has all the dishes you would order

The whole place is nicely decorated with antiques and little stuffs which are actually for sale too!

Me being on a diet *ahem* is ordering plain water again. And i just love it when they take an effort to put a slice of lemon into my el cheapo plain water :D

i had little cottage burger (RM6)

ya ya...what am i doign ordering burger at a place serving nyonya food right?!?!

well...beats me 'x' but the patty is homemade with real beefy goodness! nice! :P

my colleague had the assam fish which she liked a lot (rm6)

but i find it a little too sour...

i went back again the week after and had the nyonya dishes this time :P
like the beancurd chicken, beef rendang, ayam tempre...and u suhd raelly try their beef rendang!

Argh so many outdated updates...as tradition goes, i blog about every new addition to my little pet family at home

Yea my dog just love the idea of babying over anything tiny...be it cat or dog or whatever...

So yeah meet Tomy! its Tomy with just one M like the japanese toymaker and not tommy! I am so particular about the name i dont know why...

But my mom still continue calling him Miko (which is the name of my late previous cat, God bless her soul)

Do you want to be a hacker?

I always think it's kinda cool to be a hacker and to have the special set of skills and knowledge to actually hack into a high security database :P When you mention the word 'hacker', people usually relate it to something bad and unethical. Being in the IT field, i don't view hackers like that, i don't think just any tom, dick or harry can be a hacker!

But don't take me wrong, i of course do not condone hacking people's private date for their own gains. You don't have to do bad things when you are a hacker, there is actually a thing called ethical hacking. Ethical hackers could actually help companies tighten their IT Security . I bet that is something most people don't know.

What do ethical hackers do? They try to breach the security of the network of the company they are trying to protect so that they can find the security loopholes which other unethical hackers can use to do harm to the company's IT security. In view of the massive automation of most company data, there are rising demand for ethical hackers.

If you are interested to become an ethical hacker, EC-Council is offering classes on ethical hacking. On top of that, they also offer other related modules such as security fundamentals, penetration testing, computer forensics, disaster recovery and secure programming. The best thing is, you can take the classes online from the comfort of your home.

Hello from Penang

Hello!!!! i m safe n sound and still alive and am currently 'growing mushroom' in Penang! Imagine cramming everything from resigning,handing over my job, signing my contract with the new company, packing my things,saying goodbye and flying to Penang all in one month...just one month ago, i submitted my resignation letter with trembly hands n feet

i had taken this pic with the intention of blogging about it a month ago...but heh...better late than never! after submitting this letter i was not really on good terms with my now ex boss! GO TO HELL LAH U! okok... we will keep that story for another day 'x'

So goodbye my old cubicle...

this time round, i didnt have a headache packing up my stuff at work cos i tried not to bring as many TOYS to work

but i did bring this little rear view mirror back and even brought it with me to Penang ...*cough cough* just in case

Thanks everyone back in Kuching...colleagues, friends and family who have treated me to lunches n dinners! I've had THREE farewell lunches from my colleagues this time! and of cos the endless buying of dinner n lunches from others :P and also ang pows n gifts....i feel so loved! i might consider leaving again every few years 'x'

Farewell Lunch at Mr Ho

Just got back from Singapore...my bag's still unpacked from the trip and now i have to do my big packing for my move to Penang this sat... arghh...

there are loads of outdated photos on my computer n camera so i just had to post some stuff before they all get forgotten...

Some of my colleagues gave me a farewell lunch at Mr Ho's fine dining on easter sunday...i think the place would be nice to take nice photos in natural lighting so i brought my dslr there on that day, which is quite a rare occurence for me :P

they are having set lunch menu with an entree,main dish and dessert for only RM15.90!

here comes the salad...

and we had extra orders of mussels...

this is the fried rice with roast pork and fried egg on top from menu 1

looks like your simple average joe dish but at the end it proved to be better than our oglio olio with roast pork from menu 2 :(

here it is...

i find it a little on the bland side...i would prefer their pesto spaghetti

we also ordered the small sampler plate which didnt prove to be small at all!

a combination of roast chicken, roast pork,sausages,pork ribs...

and of cos came the dessert at the end...love the bread pudding =)

made me search for bread pudding recipes on thet net :P

My Latest Novel Obsession

Wowee...it has been several weeks since my last update! :D
I am really drowning in all the stuff i have to do before my relocation...in the first few weeks, there were so many things to do that i didnt bother starting 'x' simply bcos i didnt know where to start...hehehe

But now, i guess things are around 90% complete...i have yet to decide what i wanto bring over and what i should leave behind *gulp* and there's the annoying BE 2008 form to fill!! arghhh...30th of April is looming!

All those stuff coupled with the erratic behaviour of my internet connection is deterring me from sitting down and write a post on my blog! Anyhow, i did manage to indulge in some free time reading...hehehe....

It all started by watching the Twilight movie...hard-core fans of the novels claim that the movie was no good but i rather like the movie...so i reckoned the book should be even better! and so i bought the first book in the vampire-love saga...Twilight :)

And after reading the first one, i just had to get the next...New Moon....
and after that.... Eclipse...the third installation in the saga...hehehe

I m still looking for the 4th book but it seems that major bookstores in town claim that it is out of stock :(

Within just 3 weeks, i bought all 3 books and spent RM110+++ on the books and that's excluding the 4th book which costs around rm49.90...eeps...there goes my shopping allowance for the month 'x'
